It all began in the City of Angels in 1969 when the Chicago bred producer/songwriter/vocalist/percussionist Maurice White and his brother Verdine formed an R & B group that they dubbed Salty Peppers. Less than two years later the brothers hired a new band and added lead vocalist Philip Bailey to the mix. Thus was born Earth, Wind & Fire and as they say the rest is history. Over the next 18 years the group would amass an impressive total of 32 Top 100 records. "Earth Wind & Fire: Greatest Hits" is an impressive collection of 17 of the groups biggest and best hits from this period. My 1-1/2 year old loves this record. It relaxes her and helps her rest and for some reason she seems to respond to this record more than some of the other relaxation records that I have. I often find myself nodding off with her in my arms as I play this for her, so it also works for those of us who are a bit older also.

A nice collection of Mozart arranged and performed as the title says - to relax. It is not a definative collection as others have mentioned, but it the melodies are familiar and are things you know. This leads to a good CD to put on, sit down and listen to with your eyes closed. One of the things I have been trying to do to help relax and calm down and I am very happy I bought this. I will be buying other titles in this series.

I am a Sgt. Pepper child too. I have the fondest and happiest memories of me going lots of time to the movie theatre to see this flick, conning and tricking every adult that i knew into taking me to see it again. I had the triple casette that was ultimately destroyed by the use and father time. Later I spent month after month monitoring the satellite tv programming hoping that they would have to show the movie again, eventually, which they did more than 10 years later at 4 am. Finally, I got hold of this CD in London in 98. I was soo excited and happy. It sounded great although obviously with a dated 70's sound. The album has some great covers, maybe the best covers of Beatles' songs of all time performed by Aerosmith, EWF, and of course the BeeGees. Peter Frampton vocally was not up to the challenge ... I haven't enjoyed this as much as I did when I was younger. This band is still very talented, but perhaps not as ageless as I had hoped! I grew tired of the CD very quickly.
