I'm convinced that when Steve Helstrip did Vol. 1, his intention was to shake up the global Trance scene and leave the biggest mark possible. Not only did he do that, but he's also been building up steam and getting better with each NightMusic release that followed. Even the album art of all three are as great as the music inside. This one has even more of the sound that I've always been into (especially that PVD-esque beat-skip in Miracle Cure at the 2:55 point). To me it's one of the best Trance compilations I've ever picked up. He better be one of the top-ranked Trance producers if the fans know what's good for them. ..Can't wait to see what Vol. 4 is gonna be like...

Some decent stuff mixed in with some tinny pop crap. What I will keep on the iPod wasn't worth what i paid.

Having now listened to all of Tiesto's 'In Search of Sunrise' series, Armin Van Buuren's 'A State of Trance,' and the other two Thrillseekers albums, plus a handful of other artist's studio albums (like Kyau & Albert, Markus Schulz, etc.), I'd just like to say that this is the second best trance album I've heard thus far - it's absolutely *loaded* with phenomenal tracks. Most 2-CD compilations have about 10 or so really great tracks on them I find (i.e. tracks you want to come back to again and again). Nightmusic Volume 2 has over DOUBLE that. The only other album that tops this is Tiesto's lastest ISOS release (Asia). Sell a kidney, take out a loan from the bank - whatever you have to do, get some money and order this album!

Now I know I said this about almost every other tune I reviewed but this really is the best tune ever.

First heard this in the Summer of 99 when it was released on 12" only, this tune really grabbed my attention from the first time I heard it.

A really banging bassline topped off with wonderful, original, uplifting chord sequences. Heavenly!!

There's also a stack of remixes: En-Motion, Alaska, Original, Thrillseekers Club, Paul Van Dyk Dub, Paul Van Dyk Dub, Ylem and Darude Vs JS16 all contribute to the package and they are all brilliant apart from the god-awful Darude Vs JS16, sounding like a horrendous hybrid of "Sandstorm" and "Synaesthesia". I hate it.

The other remixes are absolutely fantastic though!! From the beautiful elegance of the ambient Alaska ... Read More
