This is an excellent CD and would be great for the family. Chosen music gives clear picture of the show.

I saw the show in Chicago and loved it. They were selling this same CD in the lobby for $25. I'm glad I resisted and bought it on amazon instead. Great oldies with excellent sound quality.

I downloaded the new songs from iTunes since I already own the album and didn't want to have two copies. Also with the iPod I never really look at CD booklets anymore. I'll be talking about the new songs on Disc 2 1. "For Good" is a beautifully redone here with LeeAnn Rimes and Delta Goodrem. I've never heard of the latter singer but she sings very nice. I could hear this song on Adult Contemporary stations around the country. This version does not stray much from the original Broadway version. 2. "I'm Not That Girl" is sung by Kerry Ellis. This version is more "rocky" with a guitar and drum heard throughout. An extra line at the end of the song "I'm gonna pray that maybe someday I'll be that girl" I'm not sure how I feel about that. I just saw a new production of "Godspell" with an updated script (minus the original "Clown Theme") at a local theatre. I forgot how much I liked the music as I hadn't seen the musical in years. I ordered the CD right when I got home from the show!!

Some of the themes are originally from the TV shows but I specifically bought this CD because other reviewers claimed that it had the original theme from The Love Boat. If that is the theme you're looking for, don't bother getting this CD.

The CD is great. Elphaba and Galinda have nice voices. If you want to have a karaoke night this would be perfect. The only reason you should not by this CD is if your favorite songs are the ones Fiyero sings. This Fiyero is AWFULLY TERRIBLY BAD! I had to skip Dancing Through Life because his voice bothered me so. It is like sitting in chorus class and the girl next to you can't sing to save her life, but she keeps singing louder and louder and louder until you want to scream GO HOME IF YOU CAN'T SING TWINKLE, TWINKLE LITTLE STAR WITHOUT MAKING MY EARS BLEED!

My daughter and I always used Pippin to clean house by, it gave us the right amount of motivation to move along. She had my CD and her house burnt down and we lost the CD. It may be too late to get the motivation back for me but I am going to try. (great service)

In the history of musicals, sometimes we find pieces that outshine by its originality and "step forward" attitude. This is the case. Nothing compares to the songs, lyrics and orchestrations of this musical. Socially engaged and dramatically focused, it makes it very different from anything you've heard before, although it might be compared to RUNAWAYS and HAIR. An excellent trilogy of social musicals looking for something more than pure entertainment.
