I saw the Broadway show, Jersey Boys this summer and was blown away by the music. I knew I had to have the score for myself I purchased the CD from Amazon for less than 1/2 the price of the same purchase at the theater. I just love this music and am enjoying it now at home.

I bought this four years ago when it was first released and didn't like it. I only listened to it once back then - I think I was expecting another Eden or La Luna. I put this cd in my player last month and fell in love with it. This is my favorite Sarah Brightman cd. I actually love it more than Eden and La Luna (both were extremely good). I own all of her cds, but this one is her best. My favorite tracks are 2, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10, 13 and 14. Sarah's voice is so beautiful - she's extremely talented. I'm going to add the DVD to my wish list.

I purchased this 2-CD karaoke version of the Broadway musical "Wicked" for my star-to-be daughter for Christmas, and it has been a huge hit. First of all, the fact that it was recorded using actual cast members makes this a top-notch production. The music CD is fully orchestrated, rather than a quickly-assembled group of musicians or a synthesized accompaniment that so many karaoke CDs tend to be. And having the music in the actual key and tempo of the musical allows you to really "be" part of the play. I would highly recommend this for the casual singer or the star-to-be.

Sarah Brightman has developed her talent for singing in a grand way. Her video performance is equally great. She will never probably have any idea how many nights she has sung me to sleep ;). I look for a performance and a live concert to come near me soon. I would like to see her, however, embrace the more artistic and less of the skimpy clothing side. There is a delicate line between flash, art, and trash, and some footage and photos of her cross the line with me. Nude and semi-nude do not mix with song and expression. I'm sure this album won't appeal to everyone but personally I love it. The standout tracks here (for me) are: Meadowlark, Mr. Monotony, Dreamers, Three-Cornered Tune, Away From You & If Love Were All. This album should appeal to lovers of obscure musical theatre songs and to fans of Sarah Brightman. I think this album shows that she is far more versatile a singer than people give her credit for. The reason I have given this a 4 star rating instead of 5 is because the album was recorded on a lower volume so you have to turn it up a bit, but that is a very small quibble about an otherwise great album.

Beware of this CD. It is NOT the full concert!!! When I misplaced my DVD of this show, I decided to buy the DVD because I thought it would be as good but NO!!!!!! They left off 3 songs. Yep you heard me, 3 songs! And they were the best sounding on the DVD, which is what makes it even worse. I can't believe they would cut "Arabian Nights", "What A Wonderful World", and "Harem". WHY WHY WHY??????????? Whoever edited this should be fired. Buy the DVD, people, NOT the crappy CD.

I don't actually own this particular compilation, however, since I own nearly every recording represented on these discs...I think I'm qualified to comment. This is a wonderful representation of the high quality of work that DRG Records does. The previous review is way off the mark. This is definitely not a waste of time or money. This is 25 years of preserving Broadway shows, Off-Broadway shows, studio recordings (mostly from the city center concerts), etc. So what if they "aren't as good as the original", DRG is preserving many recordings and artists that other mainstream labels don't or won't.
