Everything about this CD is absolutely first rate. From the other reviews you cannot doubt the musically perfect pitch, wonderful voice of Fernando Lima, but I must also highlight the perfect muscianship of the production including wonderful flute, piano, etc..It is not often where a singer can 'share' the production equally with first rate muscians and neither ever over-shadow the other!----This is a quality production rarely produced in the states anymore. Even folks who only like opera may love this, but it is best suited to the 'classically diverse' listener.----A feast for the ears!---- Fernando, please hurry on your next production, please, and thanks!!

Mary Fahl's voice gets better with time no matter what side of time she's on. I've been a fan since her arrival with the group "October Project." Her lyric s are thoughtful and her alto voice, hauntingly beautiful.

..and Mary Fahl's song is available on HER OWN ALBUM,along with a lot of other equally beautiful tunes...That said,the score to this clunker,written by Mychael Danna is about as beautiful as a sack of yesterday's trash...Maybe if the guy had listened to Mary Fahl's song BEFORE writing this junk he might have been inspired to write something nice...This was a depressing film,little seen when in general release,but Danna's depressing music is just that;DEPRESSING...Some tunes are so heartfelt as to make one's heart ache with sorrow...Danna,in scoring this film,seems to have been determined simply to make one's ears ache and leave it at that...

I really enjoyed listening to this cd. His voice is very soothing and easy to listen to. I especially enjoy listening to "Last Morning of my Life". It includes songs made famous by others such as"Back on my Feet" and "Young Girl". I have his other cd which features music from various operas. I would say you won't be sorry that you bought this cd!!!!!!

I am Luciano Pavarotti's biggest fan, so I am biased. But for a man of his age, this recording is simply amazing. The golden voice is still there - Il Gladiatore is one of the shining moments of his career. I'd put it next to anything else he's ever recorded. Absolutley stunning. And Buongiorno is a delightful, uplifting little tune - can't get it out of my head! Yes, it's an older Pavarotti here, the voice is darker - but like other reviewers said, at this age, he could still out sing most tenors alive today. Very poignant, very beautiful. Buy it!

This is my favorite Christmas CD. Nicolette Larson's 'Nothing But a Child' and 'Good News' by Rob Mathes both bring a tear to my eye. Dr. John is fun and all the rest of the songs add to the nice variety of tunes on the CD.

I have been at every single one of Rob Mathes' Christmas Concerts, including the one on this CD, and have loved everyone of them. His incredible original compositions and arrangements are further augmented by his amazing piano and guitar playing and his singing. In addition to this you've got people like Vanessa Williams, David Sanborn, and Michael McDonald adding their talent to this great live album. I now sing in Rob Mathes' choir, which is an amazing experience, and I can tell you Rob is the best conductor I've ever had. Hopefully soon some more of Rob's albums will get full release, like his first non-christmas CD, "Evening Train," which is also a great piece of work. If you like this album, also take a look at Vanessa Williams's "Star Bright," which has three of Mathes's songs on it.
