I found the album version of this in college and loved everything about it, from the edgy Aldonza to the humorous Sancho. Beware, the album had much of the play's dialog on it which the CD lacks. Even so I'm happy to have the music back in my collection. My family appropriately thinks I'm a little crazy as I sing along loudly when I listen to the music.

This CD set is one of my favorites. I bought Spirit Wind on a cassette in the mid 1980's and was glad when I found it on CD. Both CDs are gorgeous and bring my mind to peace.

Good sound track! I would recommend this to anyone who loves the movie "Yankee doodle dandy"

Of course there should have been much more. I remember there been a Metropolian Opera series called CAST ALBUMS- 100 YEARS that was put out for a limited time only and had like five volumes. As Peter Filichia noted they left out SHE LOVES ME, BRIGADOON and SWEENEY TODD. Also nothing from PACIFIC OVERTURES, BIG RIVER, CHESS, CRAZY FOR YOU, JEKYLL & HYDE, TITANIC, THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL, FOOTLOOSE- THE MUSICAL, THE FULL MONTY, URINTOWN... But they couldn't have put it all. I would have done without Lee Remick's "Anyone Can Whistle", because the show was a flop. I guess because it was Sondheim's first "serious" show...

The sound quality is worse than an old, scratched vinyl record. Music is boring and old. Extremely disappointing.

I have been waiting for years for this soundtrack to be made available on CD. I imagine the audio is simply taken from the movie, so the purists out there may not think much of the sound quality. BUT this music and the performances are terrific. If you're here, you must already have been enchanted by the movie. The late great Richard Kiley is in great voice here, and what other album gives you Kiley with Gene Wilder and Bob Fosse? BUY this and be happy!

This CD is not what I expected. Classic italian songs mixed with some operatic selections. I would have preferred one or the other. Certainly a must to preview before ordering.

One of the finest piano entertainers ever to record classical and easy listening music was George Greely. I have all of his recordings on LP and I treasure this collection. Could you please advise me if there will ever be Compact Discs ever produced of these LP albums? The recording magic created by this extrodinary artist, George Greeley, needs to remain prominent and never lost for current and future generations. Is there any way to have my LP's transferred onto CD's by an authorized service?

Flutist and composer Richard Warner combines accoustic winds, electronic keyboards, nature sounds and light percussion to evoke moods inspired by the eight trigrams of Taoist I-Ching symbolism: heaven, earth, fire, water, thunder, wind, lake, and mountain. Less oriental-sounding than might be expected, this gentle combination of accoustic and electronic sounds in both traditional and modern musical styles took me a little while to get used to. Now, however, I find it to be refreshing and delightful listening.
