Of course there should have been much more. I remember there been a Metropolian Opera series called CAST ALBUMS- 100 YEARS that was put out for a limited time only and had like five volumes. As Peter Filichia noted they left out SHE LOVES ME, BRIGADOON and SWEENEY TODD. Also nothing from PACIFIC OVERTURES, BIG RIVER, CHESS, CRAZY FOR YOU, JEKYLL & HYDE, TITANIC, THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL, FOOTLOOSE- THE MUSICAL, THE FULL MONTY, URINTOWN... But they couldn't have put it all. I would have done without Lee Remick's "Anyone Can Whistle", because the show was a flop. I guess because it was Sondheim's first "serious" show...

This followed "La Luna." Webber releases his own collection of Sarah music following her major releases. It's a very good album and features some previously unreleased songs by Miss B.

Oedipus Tex & Other Choral Calamities is one of the must haves from PDQ Bach. This album has some of his best stuff on it including the title tracks and one of the funniest songs he has composed "classical rap" this is well worth one's time to check out.

If you follow my reviews you will find that I enjoy newer, less classical musicals usually. HOWEVER, Camelot was certainly a fine listen. The songs are enjoyable and give a nice outline of the show, the singers are pleasant, the lyrics are pleasing and clever. While listening to the two recordings of Camelot I own, I decided that the Camelot: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (1967 Film) 1967 recording is better than this one. I came to this conclusion because the singers on that album have more personality which makes the show more real for the listener. I am in no way saying this 1960 isn't good, that one is just better. Fav song: "If Ever I Should Leave You"

I wore the original LP of this show out from constant play...a wonderful, tuneful score that never fails to please...there is something about the music that prompts repeated playings! I now have the CD, and Barbara Harris never fails to come through for me..I wish she would have done more musicals during her prime..I have The Apple Tree and this one..I don't know of too many others she did...I might add as a side note that I saw Van Johnson and Linda Lavin in a roadshow production of this at the St.Louis Muny...very good!! They were in very good voice at that time..Again it is a play that kind of drags, but I do think the music fits the story very well!! Enjoy!!
