I recently purchased Christmas with Coniff and the recordings are crystal clear and sound just like they did when I was a kid. The price was right too.

The Ray Conniff Singers are a part of American Holiday tradition. This collection was a part of my Dad's record collection in the 70's and 80's. I want my kids to hear more of the classic Christmas music that will never grow old. It is timeless. A welcome addition to a lover of traditional Christmas music!

Saw this CD on Amazon and remember my family owning this LP when I was small. For old times sake I bought it now, in July so to have for the holidays, remembering days gone by. CD came in very good time and in very good condition. Very pleased with results.

As "old fashioned" as CONNIFF might be to some people, his music is UPLIFTING and ENJOYABLE and never goes out of style. His composition adaptations from music that has been around awhile, some long before him, shows what a "creative genius" CONNIFF really was. Example: Concert in Rhythm Volume 1 and Volume 2 displays his Mastery of great music from some of the "great composers". Every time someone hears that music I am always asked "what great music and what is the name of that - I want to get that CD"? I have many of Conniff CD's which create "the mood" I want for "the occasion". Conniff offers this with his greatest natural musical abilities in his compositions still in demand.

After the success of his Christmas albums in 1959 and 1962, Ray Conniff decided to do yet another recording of Christmas favorites in 1965. There were some uptempo versions of carols but the one that sticks out in my mind is 'The Real Meaning of Christmas". A true song of what Christmas is all about. Good stuff to listen to any time of the year!

This is Ray conniff playing classical masterpieces like Tchaikovski's FIRST PIANO CONCERTO, SWAN LAKE BALLET and ROMEO AND JULIET, the great Debussy's REVERIE, the gracious ON THE TRAIL (from Grand Canyon Suite), the incredible RHAPSODY IN BLUE (this is the best), and what a surprise!! a one Ray Conniff's composition, the precious EARLY EVENING (what a wonderful song); including Rachmaninoff's SECOND PIANO CONCERTO (simply excellent)...this cd is the fusion of classical and swing music in the unique Ray Conniff Style!!!

I have appreciated and enjoyed very much the music of Ray Conniff for a very long time, and, like everybody, I prefer some of the Conniff's songs which are always of my choice. One of those is "Bèsame mucho" (one of the pieces included in this selection) that is one of his emblematic and historical themes (in the original version in this disc). However, besides this song, the other 15 are fantastic. The quality of recording process has rendered an excellent CD. All funs of music interpreted by this kind of Orchestra will surely be happy with this selection. Very good product worth of the price paid.

This was one of the first CD two fers that Collectibles issued in 2002. Ray Conniff proved that audiences still enjoyed the sounds of his chorus and orchestra in a time when rock reigned supreme. He gave them what they wanted to hear. Both of these albums when they were first released were big sellers! I have admired the music of this man with Honey and It Must Be Him. Good stuff again from Ray!

This is one of the latest "two-fer" Ray Conniff releases, and one that has been long-awaited by his numerous fans world-wide. Both of these albums were notably hard-to-get, and no collection could possibly be complete without this offering. It may be difficult for Conniff traditionalists to imagine the Singers delivering quality renditions of the BeeGees' work, but these are smooth, mellow, sometimes slightly accelerated deliveries that will please every Conniff fan. For example, the medley of "Emotions/How Deep is Your Love" is practically flawless, and "How Deep Is Your Love" is incredibly well done. Ray's version of Billy Joel's "Just the Way You Are" is similarly excellent. Other Conniff fans have offered that "You Light Up My Life" may be better than Debbie Boone's original hit! I was shopping for muzack, easy listening, elevator music---whatever you call it. I was searching for a particular sound from the 60s-70s. This set came up in my search and ordered it, thinking it would be similar to Lawrence Welk or Percy Faith. It is not. It is much more Big Band (horns) than I imagined it would be, and it has singers. I didn't want words, just popular music arranged for orchestra. The one saving grace is "Up, Up and Away" (in my beautiful, my beautiful balloooooooooooon). But it's sad I bought 3 CDs for one song. I'm going to end up giving them to my mom.
