This album has a collection of the blues' genius with other great talents; and lovely performances with Norah Jones, James Taylor, Willie Nelson, B.B. King, Van Morrison. My favorites are: "sorry seems to be the hardest word" with Elton John, and" Do I ever cross your mind" with Bonnie Raitt.

A great album that can only be enhanced by listening to another wonderful collection: Ray Charles & friends

Some of the themes are originally from the TV shows but I specifically bought this CD because other reviewers claimed that it had the original theme from The Love Boat. If that is the theme you're looking for, don't bother getting this CD.

Music : Ultimate Hits Collection (2CD)
There are only about 3 or 4 songs in this whole collection that I really like. I think the title of this cd is misleading. I would of liked to have been able to listen to each song before I bought this particular cd. It was a waste of money for me. Ray Charles has so many other great hits that should be on this cd collection, considering the name of it.

There are 2 groups of people in the world - those who endure Christmas music, and those who long for it. Yes, this is a simplistic generalization, but hey, it serves the purpose for this CD review!

I am in the group that longs for Christmas music. I truly never get tired of the old standards, and my collection far exceeds what I can hear even by listening to music every day from December 1 through New Year's Eve. I love carols, and classical pieces; I love the Messiah and Burl Ives...can't get enough of them!

So you'll understand when I say that Aureole's "Christmas Wishes" is a joy and a delight, something I can listen to as I go about my holidays, something to play as background during holiday parties...music to enjoy as a direct listening experience or just as a calming ... Read More

7.The Spirit of Christmas by: Ray Charles
September 02, 1997
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Music : The Spirit of Christmas
THE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS, incorporating elements of gospel, soul, big band and jazz. Rhino's reissue includes a bonus track, the Charles-Betty Carter duet "Baby, It's Cold Outside."

The best secret here is the song "That Spirit of Christmas" which can be heard in th movie Christmas Vacation. Worth the price of the cd alone.

Many tracks are classic Christmas songs done in Ray's soulful style. It's a nice change from the typical Christmas albums, and it's one everyone can agree on. Amazing, blind since the age of six (from glaucoma), Charles studied composition and learned many instruments at the St. Augustine School for the Deaf and the Blind. What a gifted musician!!

The Very Best of James Galway

These recordings are pure pleasure to listen to. They contain well known selections, well executed, that deliver a very nice listening experience.

I enjoy Galway's style; these two CDs offer very good value.

9.Modern Sounds in Country and Western Music by: Ray Charles

Music : Modern Sounds in Country and Western Music
On the very best list of 1962 and 1960's albums, Ray Charles'"Modern Sounds in Country and Western Music" has to be on a top and prominent place on that distinguished list. The main jewels of that royal crown are "I Can't Stop Loving You" definitely the top hit song of 1962, played and played not only for that entire year but subsequently. The others top hits in that album were "Born to Lose" originally the flip side on the former 45 rpm single version and "You Don't Know Me". Bonus tracks were added on this great compilation. Perhaps the only missing Ray Charles musical jewel in this great musical compilation is "Georgia On My Mind". If they would've added that song to this fabulous album, it would've been an unprecedented collector's item and best seller.

Alright I am a jazz guy.But I listen to just about everything from Jerry Lee Lewis to Liszt. But think about true icons in American music and the list would be short.Sinatra?Elvis?Johnny Cash? The most amazing thing about Ray is that he is by far the greatest exemplar of AMERICAN music EVER!From his secularized gospel crossed with R&B that invented Soul he enjoyed playing and excelling in every from except for maybe Opera.R&B,Country,Jazz he did it all.

Here is a early killer LP that was arranged by Quincy Jones and has long time cohort David "Fathead" Newman AND Paul Gonsalves (the band was poached mainly from Ellington and Basie) to latter avant garde, soul jazz, straight ahead master Marcus Belgrave on trumpet. Here they play:
1 Let the Good Times Roll Moore, Theard 2:49
2 It ... Read More
