Phelg Camp's cover of "Feeling Gravitiy's Pull" is awesome. If you are one of those artsy-fartsy REM/GenXer's "woe-is-me-no-one-understands-me" fans typical to the late 80s and early 90s expecting to hear the urgent pathos of Michael Stipe's voice re-interpreted then you are an idiot. If the title does not give away what this record is about then you need to go back and review satire and parody in your high school literature text. If you are into punk rock then this is a great record for you. This isn't about mood, pathos, or art this is about having fun with the most overrated "mood" band of the 1990s.

Have you noticed how many space-related bands there are around today ? theres MERCURY Rev, Space, Astr(o)id, and of Course, REM. **REM?**. Yes, REM- the band that sound like they came from Uranus. Ok, excuse the "humour"- this is what I really think of this song... it's funnier than that joke, and you should all realise that. From the stupid lyrics "that sugar cane that tasted good", which then murmur on about "Lima Beans" and "Lemonade" to the overall 'happiness' of the song, REM are a joke that got old halfway through the 80s. Please don't subject yourself to this rubbish, you don't deserve it, whatever you've done in your life. This is truly awful...and if you thought this was bad wait until you've heard the follow up, 'All the Way to Reno'- I'm beginning to think they're competing with their ... For a limited edition 3-inch cd single, you get 2 great new versions of previously released REM songs. Suspicion is a wonderful song from UP, and this live version really captures the sweetness of it. But this live version of Perfect Circle is just a nice. It is cool to see REM put this song on a 1998 single (live) that was originally done on 1983's Murmur. As far as the other Suspicion cd-singles, this is really the one you want, unless you want the album version of Suspicion and another version of a very-overplayed Man on the Moon.

"Adventures in Hi-Fi" is one of those R.E.M. records that seems to have gotten away {Not so good critical reviews, low sales}.

Well, if I can remember properly, there were at least 4 of these EP/Single CD's issued overseas {Mine is from Japan} to promote some singles activity from: "Adventures". This is: "Bittersweet Me", it contains the title cut and three more gems. As an EP it is only 18 minutes in length, but it is a pretty cool 18 minutes. "Undertow" is a live version from Atlanta, that was used in the Band's film: "Road Movie" that was released in 1996. "New Test Leper" is from a Seattle Studio, and had a very limited life as a Radio promo CD, that is more than impossible to find today. "Leper" is even better than the original, in this acoustic version.
But, I may be a bit ... Read More
