Paul van Dyk's 'In Between' album is by far his best effort to date. Therefore, I welcome any addition there is to it. This offering, although not great, is still very good and I would recommend it to anyone who appreciates Pauls' previous work. Disc 1 is nearly perfect, whereas Disc 2 suffers slightly from repetitiveness. Overall, I'll take the good with the mediocre... and for under $10, who's complaining.

PVD has done it again - Cream is a definining piece of work in that he's intentionally separated his album into two - disc 1 vectors with his recent re-embrace of the house scene while at once reminding his fans that, in disc 2, he's not about to lose his edge on the progressive trance front. This is great for tranceheads like myself, offering me a house alternative that I would otherwise not have entertained on my own. PVD needs to come back to LA before the year ends - Montser Massive did't count - I missed it. :(

This album is the first in a new progression for DJ/producers of the trance genre. This album is much like ATBs albums and now the newly released Armin Van Buuren album. Vocally, poppy and radio ready. A disappointment from Paul Van Dyke's origins as a trance dance DJ.

First off, purchase the mp3 release. It contains more tracks and has longer running times than the CD release. Second, PvD's famous (or infamous) 4-4 beat gets very tiresome here. It plagues just about every track. It works for some of the tracks, but in songs like 'New York City' it just gets ugly repetitive. And when that's pread over 17 tracks, it becomes hard to really distinguish and separate one track from the other. Some of his best tracks here are 'Another Sunday' and 'La Dolce Vita'. Still, there's nothing quite as memorable, nothing that would stand alone as a classic PVD tune like 'Forbidden Fruit', 'Another Way', or 'Autumn'. I've seen Paul Van Dyk in person and let me tell you he does NOT disappoint and neither does this cd! Track 11 is a definite favorite! If I close my eyes and hold the headphones close to my ears it's as if I am back at Nation all over again! AWESOME!

This CD is intense as hell. This CD has heavy bass and trancy rhythms and almost no vocal tracks, which will scare off those who are not accustomed to trance. That being said, I'm usually not into this kind of trance either but this is what made PVD the #1 Dj in the world! Phenomenal CD!

The first disc in the Limited Double Edition is excellent. However, I wasn't too happy with the second disc: The Count Remix of White Lies is so lethargic you are compelled to change the track. How can you destroy a good track like that and be happy with yourself? And PVD's track "Taking the Long Way" is taking the long way to boredom. Overall, I say this is a great piece of work. Some may say PVD is going too commercial by teaming up with Sutta, but I brush those concerns aside. PVD can still bring the house down, and at the end of the day, that's what really matters.

Purchased this CD primarily for the "Time of Our Lives" single that has been on the Jeep commercials lately. Definitely love the song. The other mixes are also quite good as well. It would have been nice to get the original "connected" mix but I suppose nothing is perfect. Overall, very good CD with some nice beats.

I bought this album the week it was released. I should have went with my initial reaction of awe regarding the sheer number of tracks that were on each disc (always a bad sign that your in for anthem mania), but a was still a novice electronica shopper then! It still obviously sold enough copies to please the powers to be as there is a second album under the same title. Always a market for everything. Two discs full of tacky athems and re-mixes that I still have not figured out how anyone could actually dance to. Then again, I did visit a club in Vienna, Austria...let's just say the occupants' dancing styles were...unique. Both Disc get 2/5 stars.
