If you are a club-goer, you are going to love this album. Disc jockeys all around the world will agree that Moby has truly outdone himself this time. There are two #1 club play singles to be found here - "Disco Lies" and "I Like To Move In Here." But honestly, every track is worthy - there is zero filler to be found on Last Night. Forget all you think you know about Moby - this makes Play a distant stagnant memory. I hope my review brings this album up in the rankings - it is deserving of Top Ten status! Just bought this CD a couple of weeks ago. I enjoyed listening to it because there's something different about these music compared to contemporary ones. Although obviously they are very modern, you can say Moby's technique of utilizing notes harks back to medieval times. The prolongation of some notes (which are hypnotizing) resembles those of the chants used in religious services. The transitions can be compared to majority of the classical/baroque music. And who could miss the vocals that resemble arias?

Nowadays I found is very hard to get great albums and by great I mean albums that you can hear from start to finish without skipping any track and finding yourself going back to the songs to hear those again and again. Thats how I declare an album a favorite of mine. As I was saying, lately its being very hard for me to get and album like this and the thing I like the most about this album (I know its a greatest hit album...) is that just when you think you have had enough of good songs and that there is no way to be more impressed there comes another song equally or even better than the last song. This album has such merits and is now, in my 1000+ cd collection one of my favorites. Thanks Moby.

Another great mix of old soul, ambient, and dance music from Moby. It's a great combination. The ambient provides the spiritual tone; the dance provides the energy; and the old soul provides the added depth. And he's the best in the world at it. It works because you can tell he respects each sound he's using, and not just using it to prove he can, or fit a certain popular sound. Moby must have a great soul. You can feel it in his music. Very spiritual and life driven. And that shines through whether his songs lean more towards rock, pop, dance, or classic soul. Most of the songs on this album are a mix of soulful-dance-and ambient. There's also a few pop, a few ambient, one rock, and a few dance tracks. As an entire record, it works perfectly. And does wonders for your mood.

I did not find that I enjoyed it as much as Pure Moods, Vol. I Pure Moods Vol I, I think is still the best

For everyone who is wondering what's this special music that's coming out of the speakers in Target. For everyone who wants to know how his whole masterwork started. But most importantly: for everyone who is able to recognize that he is a real genius -and it is really rare today...

Moby is a talented guy, so let's get that out of the way. But his talent is in the area of music composition. Someone somewhere heard him sing and encouraged the poor man, and now we have this, a dismal disaster from a pampered misguided sould who's otherwise brilliant. The man can't sing, and if his fans care about him at all they should tell him to shut up and instead put his fingers to the keyboard and do what he does best: compose music and sample other people's voices.

Sorry, but I found this CD to be incredibly boring and even difficult to listen to! Each song just goes on & on, same beat for up to 6 minutes. Almost painful to have to endure entire CD - would not recommend.
