Ok, we have 2 Loads, where Metallica start to sound like GNR and Hard-Rock acts, then we have S & M , which is quite good, but due to too many Load songs and the Pre-Black album songs being tuned down by one tone or a semi-tone and the guitars sounding very deep and low. This is the first song that fully utilizes those guitars, sounding like Met's Whiplash but slow-burning. But again, it sounds like Hard-Rock, not Thrash.

Yes it's true!And not only that it's awesome. "Nothing else matters" is the best on the cd.James's vocals and guitar,Kirk's and Jason's guitars, and Lars's drums together with an orchestra makes for the perfect fusion of classical and hard core.GET IT!

The editoral view above says that this cd contains Wherever I May Roam, Fade to Black (live), and Wherever I May Roam demo. No that is not it on this cd. It has Whever I May Roam and then 3 live songs played right together. Last Caress, Am I Evil?, and Battery. I love Metallica and want the cd with that version of Fade to Black (live) on it. This is cool but for only Die hard fans like me. Just dont get confused.

I emailed Metallica.com for some answers, this is an excerpt from the e-mail: 'Firstly, it[In the Beginning...Live] is on a different record label to the normal "Vertigo". These 5 songs feature Metallica at their heaviest, and it's really cool to hear them tackle everything from The Misfits to Diamond Head on this record. Track listing: 1. Helpless (originally recorded by Diamond Head)-A good song originally, but Metallica just rocks it here. It has a very garage band sound mixed with the Black Sabbath-'70s metal style combined. Some people just don't appreciate GGOD MUSIC with GOOD MORALS; hats off to Metallica- the band who has taken unnecesary criticism for loads, napster, and st. anger. The lives tracks are awesome. SUPERB.
