This lady has one great voice. She can certainly sell a song. My only reservation about her is that she's a bit cocky. I think she could use some humility.

I'll admit it: I was coerced into participating in a local production of Titanic The Musical recently and while I never had, nor do I have any desires to perform on stage, I almost reluctantly fell in love with this incredibly moving story that involves an absolutely amazing musical score. I played Benjamin Guggenheim, who along with some of the most famous millionaires in the world (John Jacob Astor, George Widener and the Thayers, literally the Bill Gates and Donald Trumps of their day) died as the Largest Moving Object on the earth slipped beneath the waves, April 15th 1912. Of course there should have been much more. I remember there been a Metropolian Opera series called CAST ALBUMS- 100 YEARS that was put out for a limited time only and had like five volumes. As Peter Filichia noted they left out SHE LOVES ME, BRIGADOON and SWEENEY TODD. Also nothing from PACIFIC OVERTURES, BIG RIVER, CHESS, CRAZY FOR YOU, JEKYLL & HYDE, TITANIC, THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL, FOOTLOOSE- THE MUSICAL, THE FULL MONTY, URINTOWN... But they couldn't have put it all. I would have done without Lee Remick's "Anyone Can Whistle", because the show was a flop. I guess because it was Sondheim's first "serious" show...

I'll admit I wasn't a fan of the original, but this revival has won me over. And now I really like both cast albums. The revival cast is just as good as the original, Banderas well cast as Guido. I prefer Chita Rivera over Lilliane Montevecchi on Follies Bergere,(could never understand what the hell she was singing!) And while Jane Krakowski is not exactly the (sadly) late Anita Morris, she is sexy in a different way and it works. I love Mary Stuart Masterson, who knew she was such a terrific singer? The whole CD is beautifully done!

My wife and I saw a production of this musical at the Bucks County Playhouse in Pennsylvania. Impressed by the production, I sought out the cast album and was pleasantly rewarded. This version is SO much better that the (hack!) Webber version that it makes you wonder WHO exactly greenlights productions for Broadway! This version is by Arthut Kopit and Maury Yeston ("Nine" and "Titanic") and while there are several melodramatic moments, they work beautifully! THIS "Phantom" rules!

This is the original, and definitive recording of NINE. This is Maury Yeston at his best, with an exquisite original Broadway cast mixing Broadway and New York Cabaret veterans in a show that was part morality play, part fashion show. I loved the original which I saw on Broadway several times. Included here are the remastered extended versions of the songs. Included are the cut songs from the recent Broadway revival. And thankfully missing the male chorus voices on the London fundraiser version with Jonathan Pryce. I've been listening to this CD for six months now. The songs, orchestrations, and singers are all wonderful. I love this CD.

While looking for albums to purchase my eyes caught a glimpse of Thomas Hampson's Leading Man. Myself being a singer was immediately intrigued with the concept of a wonderfully trained, and very high I might add, baritone perform broadway pieces that deserve a little bit more technique than they often get. I've purchased many c.d's of this kind with artists such as Bryn Terfel performing broadway classics and have gotten a lot of satisfaction from it. However, I was severely dissapointed with "Leading Man". I'll state my three reasons... 1. The orchestration is absolutely terrible.
