I've owned this 1990 CD release since 1993. It was the first CD I ever bought. This CD covers Madonna's best songs from her 1983-1989 albums. Everything from "Holiday" to "Vogue". All of these songs are rerecorded versions of the originals, so they sound a little different than the originals. Thankfully they didn't stray too far from the originals though. They are not crappy remixes or anything of that nature, just slightly updated for the time (1990). This is still one of my favorite CD's of my ever growing collection. I love about 15 of the 18 total songs, and that's unheard of!

It is with great shock and dissapointment that I read some of the scathing reviews here relating to this song. Most of the "bad" reviews obviously comes from "older" people who find it difficult to adapt to the natural progression of music. This is Madonna's interpretation of the song, it is NOT Don McLean's version and never will be. Deal with it. If Don McLean can praise Madonna for her version of this song (which he has), why can't some of the other "sour" reviewers do the same? No one is asking them to buy this single, no one is asking them to even listen to it and no one is forcing them to like it. This is the CD single of Madonna's Top Ten hit "Hanky Panky". It's a great song which is an ode to the joy of spanking. There are two remixes of the song, which is less remixes than usual. The "b-side" is "More", from Dick Tracy.

This is a rare version of Bad Girl, so if you can find it, buy it. The cd only has three songs, but it is still good. 1. Bad Girl (Edit): This is the edit of Bad Girl. I do not like this version, beause I love this song and edit, just ruins it. 2. Deeper and Deeper (Sheps Deep Bass Dub): This cd is the only place I have found this version. This version is decent, but not the best. 3. Deeper and Deeper (Sheps Deepstrumental): This is the instrumental to Deeper and Deeper. I love ths music to the song, so this is a plus for me. You can only get the instrumental on this cd and the U.S. cd single (which is also hard to find.) This is a nice thing to add to your collection just because it is rare.

"The Power of Goodbye" is one of Madonna's best songs to date. This cd has no spectacular songs on it, but the cd is the real gem. It is a picture cd. The cd has the same image as the cover, but with a blue background; it is gorgeous. All the remixes on this cd, you can get on the German Single and Japanese Remix Cd. 1. "Power of Goodbye" (Album Version): The best version I have ever heard. You can not improve this version. 2. "Little Star" (Album Version): This song is from the album Ray of Light. It is a nice song about Madonna's daughter. 3. "Power of Goodbye" (Dallas Low End Mix): This is a mix by one of Madonna's producers on Bedtime Stories: Dalllas Austin. I usually don't like dub mixes but these are great and I find myself pushing the repeat button. The Calderone vocal remixes are not on this but I still think this single is a must have for the dubs, and of course for the EXCELLENT original version which Madonna didn't ruin at all despite all the critics. Madonna's version is extremly well done at my opinion with vocal & musical arrangements which are a pure delight to listen to. True, the two dubs are almost identical and I don't see the point... On the first one the repeated vocal part is "this will be the day that I (die)", while a few more vocal parts from the chorus are added to the next one (two times). This cd is actually the UK part 1 cd-single.
