The Look Of Love was Madonna's 18th single to be released in the UK in December 1987. The song peaked at No.9 in the UK, and was Madonna's lowest-charting single since Borderline way back in June 1984. The Look Of Love is a very underrated Madonna song, but not surprising considering that it peaked rather low and spent only 7 weeks on the chart. The song was also the third of three songs to be taken from Madonna's "Who's That Girl: Original Soundtrack." The Look Of Love opens with a very mysterious and serious beat. I am not a fan of Madonna but I bought this album out of curiosity because I liked her album "Confessions On A Dance Floor", and how is this the early years? Example: "Wild Dancing" (which is a great song Btw) AND "On The Street" are THE EXACT SAME SONG!!!!!!!! On WD, Madonna sings "I'm Looking For Some Wild Dancing Out On Thew Street". On "On The Street", that line is sampled so the chours is "Dancing, Dancing, on the street. On The street." What the hell? This was so awful that even my cat was ready to kill herself unless I turned it off. Oh and the rest is just sound clips being sampled together to form So-Called "Songs". Not to mention "Give it to me" is just her singing "give it to me" a bajillion times. I thought Virtual Eleven by Iron Maiden, my favorite band, was the worst CD ever, ... Read More

I love this album, songs are softer and the lirics so poetic, is like Madonna's voice singing poetry, very good album, a must have for all Madonna's fans.

In 1993 Madonna released the Final single from her album EROTICA, Rain. Rain is proably one of Madonna's most powerful ballads and best! Madonna and Shep Pettibone composed a true masterpiece here. This maxi is defintley a good one! The only version that is better than this one is the German Version, only because it has the Video version of Fever. The Tracks Here are really good! 1. Rain (Radio Remix): This version is much more tame than the album, they take out some instruments. Then in the middle of the song where Madonna starts talking: "Waiting is the hardest thing..." the secondary vocals are removed. I prefer the album version to this one. 2. I am an avid Madonna collector and I have been looking for a copy of this CD for years. I used to have the cassette single when it was first released in 1996 but I misplaced it. In 1999 I started collecting Madonna CD's, vinyl, cassettes etc. and I wished I still had it. I looked everywhere online for this CD and finally bought it from an amazon.com's marketplace seller (thank you!) Now, on to the CD. It contains a remix of the song called "Soulpower Radio Remix" which is fantastic. It's very r+b/mellow/soulful. I love this version. The other track is the same remix that appears on the Something To Remember album, which is just an enhanced version of the 1984 Like A Virgin version, with a few added instruments and what-not. This single (like most all Madonna 2-Track CD Singles) is now out of print so if you find a copy, pick it up. I'll Remember was a big hit for Madonna in 1994, a wonderful prelude to the warmth her Bedtime Stories album would bring later that year. It's a great ballad. Secret Garden is perhaps Madonna's most poetic song ever. I love it.
