'Saints of Los Angeles' is definitely Motley Crue's strongest effort to date (next to the self-titled album) but also encompasses some of the spirit of the old & perhaps the Crue most fans want via 'Dr. Feelgood'/'Girls Girls Girls.' Truly a great balance of bringing the old Crue with a new & heavy direction, not to mention the production is the best of any Motley album & the band has never sounded tighter. Cheers boys!

Music : Motley Crue - Greatest Hits
Well first off, I bought this CD because I was exploring Motley Crue. I head some of their songs, and bought the CD because I wanted to hear more. That said, I do enjoy this music, and it is a lot of fun to listen to.

Motley Crue-Girls, Girls, Girls ***1/2

Written, recorded, and released while the whole band was addicted to heroin, coke, and booze, Girls is Motleys cheapest album. It is the albums sloppiest sounding record to date, and the production suffers greatly from eighties cheese, and yet there is something enduring about this.

The lords prayer is turned into the coolest blasphemy on the albums opener 'Wild Side.' It's one of Motleys as well as rocks best bad boy songs. Nikki Sixx nailed the lyrics on this one. 'Girls, Girls, Girls' the albums title track roles next and keeps things going with some of Mick Mars best guitar playing as well as some of Vince Neils greatest vocals. 'Dancing On Glass' is one of Motleys unsung classics much like 'Piece Of Your Action' or '[...].' 'Bad Boy Boogie' ... Read More

I love everything about this album. The songs ALL rock, the costumes were cool and the sound quality is crisp and clear. Dispite what concerned parents say, it is not Satanic. Hello?!? It says "Shout AT The Devil", not WITH! I've never even had such thoughts and I've been listening to this album for 25 years now. They cover a Beatles song on this album for crying out loud! I can't really choose a favorite here because I like them all...but if I had to it would be "Too Young To Fall In Love."

Other albums I bought that sound like this are: Sloopjohnd , Too Fast for Love and The Donnas Turn 21

This is not only my favorite Motley Crue album, it's one of my favorite albums of all time! I think bands and artists are at their peak BEFORE they begin making money because they are driven by the music and nothing else. In my opinion, this is what makes a great record. It is the only way to truly get that special raw energy sound. Every song on this album is a GEM! I have a difficult time trying to choose a favorite. They all have a great "stripped" rock sound.

Other albums I own that sound like this are: Sloopjohnd , Ramones and American Teenage Rock 'n' Roll Machine

This album is good but I like the older live album better. Some of the songs on this one are already on the other live album. Probably just another way for them to make money.

They throw in some older songs that you won't find on other recordings and a couple of new ones from Red, White and Crue.

Music : Dr. Feelgood
After 1985's "Theatre Of Pain" and 1987's "Girls,Girls,Girls" Motley Crue decided to get their act togheter and make the best album they possibly could. And that's exactly what they did with "Dr.Feelgood" in 1989.They clean up and got sobber for the first time since well...ever(they weren't always but they improved a lot).Their last two albums were hugely succesfull but as Nikki Sixx said he wanted to an album he could be proud of.The last time he had that pride was with "Shout At The Devil" in 1983.To do things right they hired producer Bob Rock who pushed them to make the best album possible, whatever it was that Bob did,it worked."Dr.Feelgood" went on to become their best-selling album and it reached # 1.

The album is definatly their best since "Shout At The Devil".The songwritting got considerably better than ... Read More

After going on cruse control for most of the decade, Motley Crue pulled it together for what many would consider to be their masterpiece "Dr. Feelgood" (1989).

Newly clean and focused, for their fifth album, the band tapped Bob Rock (Metallica) to produce their new CD.

To many, "Dr. Feelgood" is regarded as the bands finest hour--their crown jewel. And While `Dr. Feelgood" certainly has many strengths; it suffers a few drawbacks as well.

Musically, "Dr. Feelgood" is probably the band's best work since "Shout at the Devil." The band--Vince Neil (vocals), Tommy Lee (drums), Nikki Sixx (Bass) and Mick Mars (Guitar), gave a one hundred percent effort. Unlike the past few records, the band didn't just coast. Their performance and Nikki Sixx's songwriting was top notch.
