This CD did not dissapoint me- It was classic Prima, some live cuts made it great- The music really gets your feet to swinging..

There's very little I can add to the previous reviews except to say that this was the reason I bought a CD player years ago. More out of curiosity than anything else, I happened to pick up a copy of "Louis Prima: the Capitol Collectors Series" in its audiocassette format back in the early Nineties. Let me assure you, this is Prima at his best, during the wild and swinging Fifties, when his was "THE" act to see in Las Vegas. From the opening number, "Just A Gigolo," I was hooked. There isn't a single track (with the possible exception of "Beep! Beep!") that I didn't enjoy. The man was a master at his craft. the reason i HAD to buy this CD, was to get mine back! i brought this to a house-warming dinner party & everyone LOVED it - including the host. Now they can enjoy Louie Prima & Keely Smith anytime they want - and I got my CD back. :) you'll find yourself singin' & swingin' along too.

Sorry, compared to Louis Prima, Louis Armstrong was a second-rate trumpet player. And when you throw in the crystalline voice of Keely Smith and Sam Butera's saxophone, live in Las Vegas at the Sahara, you've got pure musical ecstasy. Rock and roll may have its rythmical roots in the blues, but its freedom had to come from the madness of musicians like Prima!

Though I purchased the CD as a gift, I did take the time to listen to excerpts from the CD on another site, so I knew what I was getting before hand. I really enjoy this music. It's peppy, inspiring and camp. It also has a sort of tongue in cheek quality about it. Keely Smith is one of the best vocalists of not only hers; but all time.

Listening to the Wildest brought back many childhood memories. My dad and I used to sing along with all of Louis Prima's songs. One of our team favorites was "A Banana Split for My Baby". Louis' music is fun and happy and the group always sounded like they enjoyed what they were playing. I've already started sharing some of the songs with my grandchildren. Hopefully, it will be passed on to another generation!

As a kid my parents had "CALL OF THE WILDEST". I used to listen to this album all the time and really loved Keely Smith's version of Autumn Leaves. I have tried over the years to find that song and couldn't, so needless to say when I found the CD on your site I was very happy. Thank You, my only wish is that my parents were still alive to hear the album, they so loved Louie and Keely. Linda Young

I got this CD for two things Hey ba ba re bop and My Cucuzza. My mom had these songs on a 45. We played it so much the 45 broke! We know all the words and sang them all the time. When my parents had their 50th wedding anniversary and we had a big family party, we got this CD to play. What a sing-along that was. Louie Prima is so electric. You can't be sad or sit still. Just buy this CD. You won't be sorry.

This is a find. Okay, who doesn;t love Tom Waits and Jerry Garcia, but I'd previously never been nuts about Louis Prima (Brooklyn Boogie) or Screamin' Jay Hawkins (Hong Kong). And I'd never even heard of Sophia George (Sexy Dumb Dumb) or Annabouboula (BAby Wants Kisses). An eclectic masterpiece.

This album is definitely a must have for Prima fans or just plain old swing fans. A great collection of wild, wacky songs that causes your heart to do the jitterbug occupy the otherwise barren space on this spectacular CD. If you like to party and require some accompaniment (even if you don't) this is the music for you, and that's a fact Jack!
