With all the hype around Katy Perry, I had to check out what all the fuss is about. I recently acquired a copy of her cd ONE OF THE BOYS. I honestly didn't have any expectations for the album except maybe to not like it since I don't listen to pop music for most of the time. Much to my surprise, I found myself enjoying ONE OF THE BOYS. It is a fun, infectious pop/rock album and nothing more than that for me. The silly lyrics for the most part doesn't bother me but they do get on my nerves on songs like "Ur So Gay" and "I Kissed a Girl" (which has outstayed its welcome in pop culture IMO). My personal favorite songs on the album is "Waking Up in Vegas" and the anthemic "Hot 'N Cold". I especially like the infectious pop hooks in "Hot 'N Cold".
