This is the best work from JP since Hell Bent for Leather. Been a Priest fan from the start. This is a must have. This CD rocks start from finish. Pure JP - screaming and mesmerizing Halford with the typical jammimg riffs by Tipton/Downing. A little bit of everything in this. Not a bad song in the 2 disc set. Great change-ups. Rock opera at its best. Off the chart lyrics. These guys just keep on getting better. My favorite CD in years!

By 1990,the thrash revolution had taken hold across the metal world,it's brutal, uncompromsing nature effectively stamped out weaker metal acts througout the land.

Megadeth makes there best album that year, the legendary,"Rust in Peace".
Slayer releases "Seasons in the Abyss".

Metallica will begin work on there Black album, and the world was still recovering from the classics just released by Testament,Exodus and Over Kill.

Priest had lost considerable numbers in there fanbase by going in a poppier direction with "Turbo" and "Ram it Down",there two weakest albums at the time.

The band had been responsible for pioneering the heavy sound, perhaps creating the first thrash song with "Dissident Agressor" from 1977's Sin after Sin album.

Judas Priest-Sin After Sin ****1/2

The only way to describe Sin After Sin from Judas Priest is to call it epic. Every aspect of the record is epic. From Rob Halfords bombastic vocals to Glenn and K.K.'s superfluous guitar orchestrations.

While not as instantly classic as say British Steel, or Defenders of the Faith it is still one hell of an album. The opener 'Sinner' is an epic unto itself. Nearly ten minutes in length and full of power it starts the album with a bang. 'Diamonds And Dust' a Joan Baez cover shows Priest has depth. Ironically they band took their name from a Bob Dylan track off the John Wesley Hardingand 'Diamonds And Dust' was written about Dylan. 'Dissident Aggressor' is not only among the best Priest tracks but is also one of the greatest songs in metal history. ... Read More

Judas Priest is one of the most famous metal bands, a lot of people consider it to be one of the best metal bands ever... Are they right? Of course! British Steel is one of the most famous metal albums, a lot of people consider it to be one of the best metal albums ever... Are they right? In my opinion, they aren't. Personally, I consider this album to be one of Priest's worst and one of the weakest famous metal albums. Besides, I don't really consider it to be a metal album, it sounds more like hard rock to say the truth.

This album is extremely overrated. I can't believe that Priest went from awesome albums like Stained Class to this only 2 years later... They went from awesome metal songs with great riffs to simple hard rock songs with average riffs. I fail to understand why so many people consider ... Read More

Judas Priest-Hell Bent For Leather ****

The high points of Hell Bent For Leather are really, really high points. But the low points are unavoidable. This quite honestly could have been one of if not the very best Judas Priest album of all time had the boys wanted it to be. Released almost right after Stained Class, one of the bands top three albums of all time, and their best up to that point they had to way to top it. To follow up that album they would have either had to copy it or change their style totally. They did the later.

What you hear is closer to that of the sound and feel of Point of Entry. It is more of a hard rock sound rather than that of a metal record. Not a bad thing as I prefer that genre over metal but I digress.

I personally feel that this is one of Glen and K.K.'s ... Read More

I still play this one all the time. Been a Priest fan since about the time SFV came out. I have nearly their entire catalog, and this is the best in my opinion. To me there are no fillers, and every song is great.
I have an older cd without the extra tracks and re-mastering. The sound quality is wonderful. The songs are very strong. From the opening track to the final "I believe I can't stand it any more" from Devil's Child an awesome Judas Priest album. Powerful and solid bass work and superb drumming lay a super strong foundation for Glenn and K.K. to trade off
great solos. And this one is chock-full of perfect solos! And Rob as usual
displays the wares of maybe the greatest metal singer of that era.
I know it's kinda cliche', but if you get only one Judas Priest album this should be the one. Thanks for ... Read More

Priest hit it big in the 80s.
After the groundbreaking 1980 release of "British Steel",the band took a slip in quality with there next release,"Point of Entry".

This slip was made up with there biggest commercial success, the classic,"Screaming for Vengeance".

However the band wasn't quite as heavy overall on that album and compensated for a heavier release resulting in this album.

In my opinion, this is the Priest album of the 80s with the most pure metal outlook,an absolute blind attack of metal purity that unfortunately the bad foresakes for half a dozen years.

Now mind you,the writing was never back to the brilliance of there 70s releases, but few albums were as consistently rocking as this heavy classic proved.

It seems underrated, yet seriously, more fan favorites ... Read More

"Sad Wings Of Destiny," Judas Priest's second album, is an absolute classic and set the benchmark for what an intelligent, musically intricate rock album should be. Luminaries such as Metallica and Megadeth among many others have cited this album as an inspiration - and rightfully so.

Judas Priest's "Sad Wings Of Destiny" was a complete departure from their lackluster debut "Rocka Rolla" and was the impetus for the sound Priest would embark on for the next thirty years of their career. Beginning with the anthemic "Victim Of Changes," which has to be one of the best metal songs of all time, "Sad Wings Of Destiny" shows Halford, Tipton, Downing at their best.

To be honest, I didn't enjoy "Sad Wings Of Destiny" at first but found that is has grown on me over time and is now my perennial Priest favorite. This album showcased ... Read More
