Great album, great new singer. Amazing physical resemblance to the old Steve Perry and almost the same voice pitch!!!!. The video is great. For all the journey fans it's a must.

Journey could not have made a more perfect album when they launched Escape. Sonically superb and featuring the soaring Steve Perry - this release deserved more credit. Journey is often remembered as an 80s act in rock history, but this album broke new ground and set the band above its peers. The album succeeds remarkably - being able to veer instantly between adrenaline rockers and ballads - Perry being equally comfortable in either forte with Neil Schon and Jonathan Cain. Tight, tight, tight. Besides the obvious classics - Don't Stop Believing; Open Arms and Who's Crying Now - I really dig Stone in Love; Keep on Running; Lay It Down and Wanted Dead or Alive. This two disk set has almost all of the Journey songs you are looking for. There's no reason to "pick and choose" at iTunes when you can get them all on this disk for such a low price.

The first time I heard Journey's Infinity, I knew it would be one of my favorites. Now, 30 years later, it is still one of my favorites. I was glad to find it available in CD form. There's just something I can't define about the music on this CD that lifts my spirit every time I listen to it.

I too, was not a big Journey fan during the times they dominated the charts. However, as one other put it, they were enscribed into my memory during these times and have now become a cherished part of my memories. It seemed that no matter where you were, there was a Journey song playing on the radio at some point. I have fully come to appreciate their contribution to our culture and salute their music for standing the test of time and lived on to become timeless classics. Their songs still live on today at teen parties when it comes time to slow dance. This generation is starved for smoothing music in the mind jarring rap laced musical culture they exist in today. It's good to hear the time honored classics.

Fantastic music as always -- a great example of the stylistic shifting between late 70s and early-to-mid 80s Journey. Glorious work by all members, and sadly the last we hear of Rolie and Dunbar with this band. Perry's vocals are brilliant as usual -- champagne-clear and eerily spotless before his voice began to develop more of a texture through hard use. Fantastic music to listen to closely; it's easy to think of anything off the pop charts as suitable for background listening, but I strongly recommend putting in the earphones, leaning back, and really listening with all attention to this album. It merits it.

This would be Journey's last album before Steve Perry came aboard.Not to put Steve Perry down but I liked Journey better without him.

Growing up in the Bay Area in the 70's, like other reviewers, I was familiar with Journey's older material from the get-go, and because of that, I have never embraced their later material. It just sounds too bubble-gum. I never saw them in concert, but their stuff was played all over the place (parties, etc.). I have all three of their early stuff on LPs and CDs, and one of my favorite things to do is play them for people who have never heard them before. You play the CD, and they always say they've never heard it before, but they like it! What I don't understand is why this stuff never gets any airplay on so-called "classic rock" stations.
