The first time I sampled this, I thought it was a bit 'corny' but I still bought it because of the very many recommendations it received. I did not regret my decision because after hearing the whole album with my kids, I was just delighted to see them respond to each song so well so much so that after a few days of listening to it, they can already sing the lyrics. Hearing them hum the tunes while playing always brings a smile to my face. Anything to make kids genuinely appreciate the beauty and finer things in life that many regrettably ignore now, I'm all for it. As with food, kids will lap up whatever their parents introduce to them. So this is good for starters alongside with the Classical Kids series.

I bought this CD for my grand daughter and she loves it and so do I.

For 95% of you buyers, you've not only heard the Haydn, the Hummel, and the Neruda before, but you've probably got multiple recordings of each (I think I have at least 8 of each on my computer, not including ones that I haven't loaded yet), so you're probably wondering why should you buy this one. First of all, let me say, if you're not in that category and you have no recordings of these pieces and are looking for one, go ahead, get this CD and you'll love it. I recently sent this cd to my grandaughter for her daughter who is 7 months old and cranky in the car. Grandaughter tells me the baby is quiet listening to music which makes her life easier!

I play this for my son when he is going to sleep and it is enjoyable for both of us. A few of the songs are a little "off" the purely soothing edge, but it's still very nice.

Probably so, since the compilation in this CD includes quite a number of Chinese tracks. Unlike the 'Dragon Songs' or other albums of LL, this is a hybrid compilation of Western piano music and Chinese works. LL excels in the Chinese tracks. Some of the tracks are a debut release (by LL, if not universally). LL's musical upbringing starts from Chinese folk music, not 'Tom and Jerry', though he got in touch with this when he was very young. The unique musical upbringing of LL has resulted in many criticisms as well as raising many eyebrows in respect of his perfomances and interpretations. It's easy to think that the culture is in decline (mostly because it is), but Wynton is proof that we are not done for yet. He is the real thing, whether you like classical or jazz or whatever. He is a master. I love this recording of some very familiar pieces, recorded here by a real virtuoso. Just as we were getting used to mediocrity, Wynton comes along and reminds us all that perfection is worth pursuing despite our teachers' insistence that we can feel good about ourselves no matter what we do. Here is the personification of artistry and the claim that greatness is worth pursuing and is achievable.
