I have had this before on cassette for years. I'm a beatle fan. I think this is their best probably from the early years (at least the first 4 albums) but it is subjective. So many songs are just fun and upbeat or just well done. You know the songs most likely already.

Most great artist have recorded a "stinker" album and for the Three Tenors, this is the one. The album suffers from the lack of a good producer - someone to say "Ah...guys, lets try that one again," and "Do you really want to sing Winter Wonderland?" There are sloppy entrances, one or two flat notes, and some really bad song choices. With all the great Christmas music available, why did anyone think that it was a good idea for these particular singers to sing "Sleigh Ride?" However, as another reviewer noted, their rendition is good for a giggle or two. Unless you are a completist, don't waste your money. Pavarotti and Domingo have both recorded wonderful Christmas albums. Buy those!

Being an old Beatles fan , I was delighted to discover some John Lennon songs which ,I have not heard before and they now have become my new favorites. John was a great talent, his music is awesome! I wish John were alive today, so he could compose more beautiful music for all of us to enjoy. Susan R Howell

Why he called it "plastic", I have no idea, unless it was to signal the nihilism that pervades this mind-blower. In my opinion, this album is one of the greatest albums ever made by an individual male vocal artist, right up there with Dylan's classic holy trinity of "Bringing It All Back Home", "Highway 61" and "Blonde on Blonde". But Lennon's work holds the trump card of blunt honesty. In the latter half of his Beatles career, Lennon began to move away from decorative, sanitized pop expression, and toward exposing a more "real" self. However, he tended to veil it in imagery which turned out to be so clever and powerful that it resulted in some of the most brilliant pop poetry ever written, personal but perceptive too of what was happening in ever-changing 60's society. it is obvious it is lennons music that makes this concept work the artists are suited to the songs the choice of songs also suit the mission for Darfur if i wanted it to sound just like lennon i could have bought another lennon cd i have the ability to enjoy this without over-anaylizing and picking the artists apart.ALL the artists involved had their HEARTS in the right place and it does show.

Placido Domingo is a great man...I love his music and will always continue to listen to him...he is so relaxing for me to hear... I loved this CD with John Denver singing my favorite "Perhaps Love" It is a keeper for sure...

I am a Sgt. Pepper child too. I have the fondest and happiest memories of me going lots of time to the movie theatre to see this flick, conning and tricking every adult that i knew into taking me to see it again. I had the triple casette that was ultimately destroyed by the use and father time. Later I spent month after month monitoring the satellite tv programming hoping that they would have to show the movie again, eventually, which they did more than 10 years later at 4 am. Finally, I got hold of this CD in London in 98. I was soo excited and happy. It sounded great although obviously with a dated 70's sound. About three weeks before some festering sore of a human being gunned him down, John Lennon released his last work on a joint album with wife Yoko Ono called Double Fantasy. It was, in part, a gift to all those fans riveted to the couple's every move. For all the their honesty, the Lennons were masters of media manipulation, which just meant they knew how to play the game.
