Got this cd based on the song Hallelujah and everyone giving it such great reviews. Let me just say I am completely disappointed. I listened to it twice to give it the benefit of the doubt and found there are are only 2 or 3 songs I would ever wanna hear on this album ever again.

Grace is one of the best albums ever made. It is essential in every album collection. It is a pity the man died.

The startling beauty in this piece is its fragility. It plays, if one can say so, like a quiet evening amongst close friends, where little is forced, and the occasional silences come to play as well as the impromptu jokes, allowing one ephemeral moment to blend within the next, permitting an occasional smile from the listeners. I have found myself listening to this amazing collection on repeat, making my way through the day, occasionally losing myself in work only to be drawn back by a certain song or joke. This is the only stuff I've ever heard by Buckley. I bought this CD after hearing "I Woke Up in a Strange Place (Live)" on Pandora. Definitely a great track. Other reviewers were right, the sound quality on this CD is good and most of the tunes are intriguing. Still, nothing really grabbed me. I'm gonna try the "Olympia" recordings and hope they deliver as promised by other reviewers.

It may be coincidental that my favourite Jeff Buckley songs were written by others...'Lilac Wine' and 'Hallelujah'. But in the usual banter we have when comparing him to his father, it's Tim trumping the prodigal with his lyric skills, which is by no means an attempt to diminish Jeff's gifts. 'Grace' is unquestionably a more listenable, intimate and coherent album than any of his fathers'. And if you wanted added proof of his virtuosity then this concert, held in July 1995,is a fabulous testament. The warmth of his voice is astonishing. But my prompt to get the album is the incomparable, final track, with my idol, Alim Qasimov, not from the concert at L'Olympia. I've been listening to this CD for six months now. The songs, orchestrations, and singers are all wonderful. I love this CD.

Jeff Buckley and Gary Lucas met at the Greetings From Tim Buckley tribute concert at St. Ann's Church. The two wanted to play Sefronia, and so they were paired together for the event. A friendship and a musical partnership grew. The following are the recordings done during the union. This CD is a curiosity, a must for those with the desire to fill their Jeff Buckley collection and a raw, strange musical experiment for others who might be unfamiliar with Buckley's other work. Fans, do not be discouraged from buying the CD. Jeff's vocals are as amazing as always. Lucas's style is obviously different than Buckley's, but it is also interesting to see how the two worked together and shaped each other's music.
