Ok, so I went to the same high school as Heather, about 8 years after she did, in good old Fort Wayne, IN. I've met her a few times, sang with her in concert here in the "fort"...but neither of her albums really sound like "her". I mean, she is a belter. She's got a heck of a voice, and I feel like these R&B and pop type songs don't do her justice. In wish she would do more stuff like she did in Aida. I saw that show on Broadway in NYC, and she was PHENOMENAL!

Wow, just can,t believe this ladys voice, can,t stop listening to the cd take it everywhere with me. Everyone else who has heard it agrees with me so we can,t all be wrong. BUY IT NOW!!!!

Having seen the original Broadway production and being very familiar with that soundtrack, I was disappointed by this. While I'm glad to have a complete recording, I just felt like it lacked the spark of both the Broadway and movie recordings, especially Audra McDonald's performance (which surprised me). I'm not talking about the difference in quality because it's a live recording - I'm talking about the performances themselves. The feeling behind the words and music wasn't really there.

I don't own the CD but own all of the Cds from which songs were taken to make this CD. every musical has it's own style and kind of music, and this CD doesn't even take all the highlights. Some of broadway's best singers are on this album, including Brian Stokes Mitchell, Debbie Gravitte, Marin Mazzie, and Rebecca Luker. (The cd is worth buying for Rebecca Luker's song alone!) The songs are beautifully orchestrated and sung. Most are light hearted and fun, leaving me with a good feeling when listening. If you're a fan of broadway showtunes, I believe you'll enjoy this album.
