Quincy Jones already rocks my world. I have nothing but respect for him and the level of musical excellence that has always surrounded anything he put his considerable mind and talent to. But this re-imagining of Handel's Messiah from an African-American perspective is exceptional, extraordinary, unabated joy--especially in "And He Shall Purify" and "Hallelujah!" I am a middle-aged white musician/pianist/voice teacher in New York City. I got my Master's at Indiana University in voice. I was raised a Southern-Baptist even! I only offer up this information to suggest what an unlikely candidate I might be to enjoy this CD. I can't stop smiling and moving with these extraordinary performances when I put this CD on. God bless Michael O. Jackson for these vocal arrangements. I bow to the ... Read More

This is the perfect showcase for the multitalented vocalist. She pays compliments to standards, and makes a few unknown songs all her own.

A wonderful collection of Hollywood musical moments that you will enjoy over and over again. The recordings are crisp and clear. This 2 disc set will have you running to rent these classic movies. Kelly, Astaire, Garland, Crosby, Keel and many others were one-of-a-kind talents . What a great way to remember them.

If you like strange and creepy sounding music, this is an excellent soundtrack. I heard the ending title and that was the main reason I bought the CD. The music is very hypnotic, and the same tune plays over and over again, it's kind of a weird type of "Chill Out" (I think that's what that style of music is called).

Great CD.

Out of all the BAD stuff Duke has done, this is, if not his best, is among the top projects he has ever done. This is being proven by the fact that it can't be found for less than 120.00. It's understandable...It is a superior piece of work. If you can find it, get it. If you can get it for a good price, call me. Peace.

Leap Of Faith: Music From The Motion Picture Soundtrack
Truthfully, the only reason I bought this CD was for the opening song; "Sit down, you're rocking the boat" by Don Henley. This is one of his better songs and like a lot of his best songs its only available here. Perhaps Don will collect all his soundtrack solo works,I count 7 in all, into a single release. Until then you'll have to purchase them ala carte. But think fast as supplies of this and other movie soundtrack's of this vintage(80's & 90's) in which his solo work appears are disappearing fast and the price is going up steadily. Also like many other movie soundtrack's, they are unavailable on Itunes. I would only purchase this CD if I counted myself as a huge Don Henley fan and a completest of his released material. In this instance, ... Read More

I was trasnfixed by some of the music in this movie. I was happily surprised to see this soundtrack was available. I play this often at home. It is restful music. Highly recommended for those of you who loved the music from this movie as I did.
