CD is very calming and helpful with effective relaxation exercises. Soft, soothing male voice takes you through a visualization of different muscle groups with tightening then letting go of them. My husband always fall asleep before one session is over. This has been very helpful in treating his Chronic Pelvis Pain Syndrome.

what a great compilation of pre-war old-timey music, including an informative booklet withlots of pictures. You will not find any of these recordings anywhere else so snatch this one up while it is still available. I don't want to get into the particulars of any one artist or song, 'cause they're all great and listened together in context makes it all that much greater.

When I was a child in the late 50's and 60's, the evening meal was eaten at the dining table, with the whole family gathered together. We always had music playing ... usually Arthur Fiedler and the Boston Pops Orchestra. This great collection of Arthur Fiedler's works includes many of Fiedler's favorites, but also many of my family's favorites, too.

I have my entire CD collection in ITunes, and added this compilation to the others. I now have over 16 Fiedler CD collections, which total over 28 CD's. I am surprised at how many pieces are not duplicated from other CD's or CD collections in "100 Fiedler Favorites."

When I first played these 7 CD's, I was thrilled. However, when I compared the duplicates from this collection to the other CD's, I was greatly disappointed in the tonal ... Read More

Music : The Minstrel Man from Georgia
I too, purchased this after hearing Merle Haggards "I Love Dixe Blues" tribute (which incidently would have been much better if he would have stuck to the original concept, instead of making it a live concert with his own songs). While I found this recording very enjoyable, to call it the rosetta stone of county music is blind hype. This theory seems to be based on three things: Bob Wills covering "Right or Wrong", Hank Williams covering "Lovesick Blues" and Jimmie Rodgers simular yodeling style. First of all, how many hundreds of blues and jazz recordings did Wills and the Texas Playboys cover? Does the fact that Emmmett Miller was obscure, make him more of an influence than Duke Ellington? Second, in Nick Tosches book COUNTRY, he keeps mentioning Hank Williams cover of "Lovsick Blues" being in Miller's ... Read More

6.OKeh Western Swing {Various Artists } from: Epic

I love this album...it is one of the first times I heard Western Swing.

Contrary to what some of the reviews say, it *is* or at least was available on disc. Mine says CBS Special Products A 37324, and below that DIDP 072015.

I'm afraid I took it out of the Jewel Box to put it in a sleeve, and some of the notes are missing, so this may not be all the numbers, but it is everything on the disc itself. It's well worth tracking down, assuming you can.
