I saw the Phantom on stage in Toronto. I did not see the movie until 2007. I enjoyed the movie much more than the play. When I saw the play I never got a good feeling of the story. Perhaps I was too close to the stage to get an overall look of it. When I saw the movie, because you see everything up close, it was much more understandable. I bought the two disc version of the dvd and was interested in the explanation of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Joel Shumacker of the casting and the production. I think they did exactly what they intended... made it enjoyable to a larger audience. As to the casting...the only one I did not enjoy was Patrick Wilson, but perhaps its because I thought the character was trying to control Christine too much. Seems a bit silly reviewing something so well known but, having the original with Sarah Brightman on vinyl and not playing it I really did want it on CD, beautifully done and a delight to play again. However i do have one big grouch. Each time I put it in my basket I got a message that it could not be sent to my address (In OZ). I wonder why, I even tried a site that said posted from Australia, no go. I only got it from the UK and was charged an exhorbitant price in the end. Certainly nothing like when I buy from USA, so Aussie buyers beware where you purchase from.

Some of the themes are originally from the TV shows but I specifically bought this CD because other reviewers claimed that it had the original theme from The Love Boat. If that is the theme you're looking for, don't bother getting this CD.

CD has a good selection of songs, particularly for a formal wedding; however the last 5 songs on my CD were garbled so I can't evaluate those. Worth the money, and I would buy again (hoping that the entire CD was clear and easy to understand.

These songs of the soldier are a true honor to any soldier. This album makes you feel like a part of the service. In the trenches with the troops the songs on this album will make you feel like a part of that history.

Es dificil dejar de sentir admiración por este extraordinario ensamble vocal Inglés. Su capacidad interpetativa es amplísima y la forma en que sus voces se acoplan es inmaculada.En este disco interpretan arreglos de canciones de amor (y tambien de desamor) de diferentes épocas y compositores.TODO el disco es una mágnifica experiencia musical :el humor de "Chitarra d'amor",la belleza de "She's like the swallow" o el dulce desencanto de "Quand tu dors près de moi"; mencionando algunos ejemplos. La unica objeción que tengo es que el no esten integrados todos los textos en el librillo del CD. Yo recomendaría a cualquier amante de la música a escuchar este CD lo mas pronto posible.

Altissimo! continues to try and improve its product range. Often with varying results, but at least we have an almost full length CD here with some decent liner notes. The 45 minute teasers of the past same to be gone. (For now at least) This collection of recordings, and I must emphasize that, as none of these are current tracks, spans a pretty wide range of US patriotic music. There's a bit more variety than usual here for an Altissmo! product, and a lot of music with signifiance to the US Military Academy at West Point. The sound quality is decent, and even though we have no idea when these recordings were made, the sound engineering has made them consistant in their quality. This is a very good movie especially if you like musicals. Although my husband is not a huge fan of muscials and he thought it was very good. Great acting, great music and the story line is good. Liked it so much I ordered the cd for the music!
