Sure, the songs don't age well, but they were never meant to. This is a period piece and should be appreciated as such. It's beautiful '70s country orchestra craftsmanship and great spoken-word lyrics with awesome comic timing. Extra points for songs that were so prescient about environmentalism and the disappearance of open space, like "There Won't Be No Country Music", though WOLF CREEK PASS's "Old 30" and "Glenwood Canyon" hit that note even better -- just part of the reason it's such a shame that album's out of print/unavailable on CD. I grew up on WCP and still have it on tape. It's his first album and for my money it's still the best -- stark & evocative, far less slick & repetitive than a lot of these post-Convoy songs, which get bogged down fast in novelty riffs & overproduction.

I am writing to let you all know that this seller is very customer oriented. I bought and recieved this from associatedmusicbrokers. The cassete arrived and was originally and newly packaged . Never played. However when my husband played it a second time the tape broke. I originally gave this a low review for this reason. However , the seller sold the tape to me in good faith. He refunded my money without my even asking. I was quite surprised. I would definitely absolutely recommend associatedmusicbrokers as a great merchant to do business with. Not too many care so much about there reputation and about the customers satisfaction.

This review is on the recent release from founder and frontman of the progressive band,The Hoax.As ex-drummer lyricist and vocalist of this band it prompts me to give my opinion of what think of it.First of all, feel that ever since The Stream,The Hoax has been like an elastic band, being pulled by the talented chemistry in the band.Even if The Stream was not considered as one of my favorites,at least it had moments of true spirit of art.The musical strings in the band have been pulled too far apart for reconciliation, thus I find myself performing in a band as a drummer and a SOLO artist.

The Hoax 2008,as it is prelimanarily called ,has reached the point where Ranbone always wanted, melodic, still and sappy.Over-orchertrated and too repetitive. The Mannheim Steamroller on snooze.Funny how The Hoax ... Read More
