I saw the show in Chicago and loved it. They were selling this same CD in the lobby for $25. I'm glad I resisted and bought it on amazon instead. Great oldies with excellent sound quality.

After performing for some months on a cruise ship - and bearing in mind what is said about how you enjoy your travels even more when you remember them - that's exactly what I said to a companion: it feels like travel. This lady has one great voice. She can certainly sell a song. My only reservation about her is that she's a bit cocky. I think she could use some humility.

Excellent . beautiful job - recording encompasses several different music styles and they're all done with quality. Have recommended this one to several friends.

Jennifer Westfeldt hits all the notes required for the role of Eileen, yet her voice isn't my favorite. Donna Murphy's voice is not great either. The real talent there is Gregg Edelman, but I honestly prefer him along Brooke Shields and Jennifer Hope Wills.

A pleasant score. Fine singing, especially the wonderful Liz Callaway. The score, however, doesn't have those one or two numbers that stand out and stop you in your tracks. I haven't seen the show, and perhaps when integrated with the text.....

Hats off to ~ Nicholas Dodd (orchestration/conductor), Shirley Caesar (vocals) and Varese Sarabande for doing what they do best...give "film-music-collectors" something to sink their teeth into!
