Hi there...girlfriend!!!! All MY girlfriends have been harping about this Oprh Wnfrey for the longest time like she's a goddess or something, a veritable black Jesus come down to Earth to "save" all the housewives across America. So, naturally, I just HAD to order a subscription of her much-vaunted magazine, if anything, just to see what all the hubbub among women, girlie-men and feminists was all about. The Smithsonian is educational and in depth. Don't expect it to be your garden variety "throw away rag" - this is a keeper as you will want to come back to some stories and reread them multiple times. My only complaint is that i never received a card stating that I am a member now.

...then you have to buy this magazine. It always has some of the latest technology in it and presents the information in a great style. Out of all my magazines that I receive, this is always the first one that I want to read.

This is a fatastic magazine that is sure to help anyone in their everyday life in all areas from interesting trivia for better conversations to green cleaning and budget shopping to home decor and organization. My only complaint would be how long it takes for the order to process (for me, 2 months), having ordered this magazine as a gift for several people from all different places I would have to say it process faster if you order it from the Real Simple website. I don't really understand why its so slow, this is the computer age and I already entered all of the information for them, oh well.

There's only one reason I look forward to receiving this magazine - the way the feature stories report not only an event, but also the characters (I mean, people) within them. Writers would benefit from reading these pieces on a regular basis.

I have read this magazine for several years. It is sort of a guilty pleasure for me. It's not a serious magazine, but it really doesn't claim to be. I do have to say that this magazine has gone downhill in recent years. Like a number of the magazines that Bonnie Fuller has edited, it has never really recovered from her tenure. For one thing, most magazines of this genre have paparazzi photos, including People, which uses them in its "Star Tracks" section. But lately Us has pages and pages of these photos, to the point that I have to agree with the reviewer who said it feels like you are stalking these people. This magazine is more enjoyable than any other I have subscribed to. Though, at times, I have become bored reading other magazines I always find interesting items in _Popular_Science_.
