Fairly good magazine. The articles are short, interesting, and often include sailing stories. SAIL could use more hands on information. Overall evenly balanced between stories of interest, and "how to" articles. SAIL seems to be targeted at the middle class boat owner. You may need to subscribe to a mag more focused on your particular needs or two to three magazines on sailing.

This is a great magazine if you are into SCUBA. Quite a few ads but the photos are awesome!

Cruising World Magazine is a monthly publication containing cruising, chartering, sailing and sailboats reviews. The magazine articles covers sailing experience levels from the learner to world cruisers and deal with on board cooking and food, sailing performance, anchorages and anchoring, boat maintenance and boat equipment. There are personal and friendly articles where the author takes you along on their voyage seeing sights, meeting local people, different foods, entertainment and cultures. Surfer magazine is the premier magazine of the sport. I've been a subscriber since I started surfing and can't put it down. I always read each issue a couple times and then save it to read later. While not as sophisticated as "The Surfers Journal" but more serious than "Transworld Surf" SURFER is the perfect combination. I always look forward to their annual oversized collectors issue. Fascinating and enlightening articles, incredible action shots, and the latest news on anything and everything you need or want to know about surfing, you should already have your credit card out. Great reading for flat days, at work or school or at the beach.

I have been a subscriber to Classic Boating for 10 years. I became a subscriber after purchasing a 1950 18' Chris-Craft Riviera. The magazine matches my interests exactly, which is mahogany runabouts from the early days to about 1960. The photography is excellent and the articles are all well written and topical. My interest is mostly technical articles and there are a good amount of these. The advertising vendors fit my needs also and I've purchased many items from them. If you own or just like old power boats, this is the best magazine on the market.

I find this magazine hit or miss. Some months there are helpful and interesting articles other months nothing much at all. There are too many advertisements and reviews of products and vessels but then is is probably what brings in the cash, right.

My husband and I love to recreational kayak and even have a well known website on kayaking in Oklahoma. We both look forward to receiving this magazine every couple of months because of it's great photos and features. Every year I buy this for my husband, but I enjoy it as much as he does. Reading the stories and seeing the photos really inspire us to get away from the computer, toss the boats in the truck and hit the water. I highly recommend this magazine, it's inexpensive, has great features & photos and it helps you "get away from it all" even when you're stuck inside.
