There are much better parenting mags out there. Don't waste your money the articles are common sense or just written to sell a product. In fact some of the info I found misleading from the truth. Try Parenting Magazine the topics are similar but the info is better and doesn't seem written by the companies advertising in their magazine.

Ever hear of comfort food? Well this is a comfort magazine..If you are looking for saavy articles, high fashion and an edgey feel don't buy-obviously!! This is pure comfort-pure relaxation for the homey nester that is into home, gardening, housework and family..I have been reading for over 10 years..Mindless fun-light and airy--a great escape with good homefront recipes, coupon clipping, money saving, child rearing ideas and moderatedly priced fashion ideas..

I purchased this subscription despite the negative reviews, thinking that for the low price, even if the magazine wasn't stellar, it would be nice to have around the house as extra reading material. I also thought any information regarding child rearing would be helpful, as (though I work in the field of education) I am raising my first child. Unfortunately, I was wrong. The magazine provided no solid information, and included suggestions such as, "A burger with no pickles takes longer to make, so just scrape them off yourself, (secretly, while distracting your kid with a french fry, if you must)." I've been gettng this magazine ever since I was pregnant with my first daughter and I think it's a great magazine even with my second daughter I'm still learning new info. But it's pointless to buy the magazine when you can just order a free subscription on the american baby website (I've been getting it for free for 7 years now)

I have never written a review but felt very compelled when I read all the negative comments on this magazine. Currently, I receive Cookie free but when my subscription expires, I will happily pay to renew it. Every month, I look forward to my next issue of Cookie. As the Amazon product description states, this is a lifestyle magazine and hooray to that! I WANT to see stylish families with babies strapped to their hips. For me it means that my life doesn't have to be so darn practical. Cookie should not be compared to mainstream parenting magazines. If you want a parenting magazine packed FULL of practical advice, Cookie is not it. Most of the these reviews are a few years old and complain of waiting months for the first issue. Well, not much has changed. I ordered this for my wife 2 weeks after she found out she was pregnant and she is now almost 20 weeks! I should have looked at the reviews first. I think the main problem might be since it's every other month, they wait till the next issue is published, rather than send you the current issue. Still waiting!

As an aficionado of all things historic, old, and traditional, I subscribed to "The Saturday Evening Post." I was disappointed by what I received. With the exception of the excellent illustrations by Norman Rockwell, the magazine was largely advertisements for prescription medications and puff pieces about popular actors, authors, and other celebrities. This is not a worthy heir to the legacy of its founder, Benjamin Franklin, and the many gifted and talented individuals who have been associated with the magazine throughout its history. Simply put, it was not worth the price of a subscription.
