this is the cheapest subscription I have found to a very useful magazine, Wired. will look here next time I need a magazine

I've always bought this magazine on the newsstand. It's informative,funny and responsible. Now I'll never miss an issue.

Waited five months before I got my first issue. I should have canceled it but I honestly forgot about it for a while. Then I realized this Amazon subscription does not come with a CD! That is the whole point of me ordering MacLife - to get the CD with all the extra goodies. Thank you Amazon and Future Inc. You really know how to treat us great.

One has to wonder why a great magazine such as MacWorld cannot ship their first subscription issue immediately and what actually happens during the eternity between ordering a subscription on Amazon and receiving the first issue in the mail. When you consider that the entire infrastructure is electronic (order goes in at Amazon and Amazon notifies (electronically?) Subscription Dept. at MacWorld and email lands in an inbox, read on a Mac and then what? Do they print emails and stack them in a pile for someone who "doesn't do email" or the entire thing just sits in the inbox for months on end until someone goes "let's do a batch of subscription this weekend. order some pizza." I am honestly curious about this. Why such horrendous delays? Why not deliver first issue(s) electronically ... Read More

It's not just that you can get your information much quicker nowadays online, well actually it is. Everything in the magazine is automatically two months behind. Out of all the information that is provided none of it is very tech oriented or interesting for that matter. This is an uninteresting magazine not fit for a Dentist's office. You can find better computer information and news in Discover or Scientific American. Next time I'll just stick to finding PC info on the web.

I agree with the reviews that say the quality of the publication has diminished over time, but this magazine still puts out a quality product every month. Here are a few genuine PROS and CONS: PROS * I am consistently impressed with game and hardware reviews. In the six years I've been reading PC Gamer, they have only steered me wrong once with a review (that game was "Black & White") * Depending on the subscription you choose, there is a game demo disk each week.
