What a load - my subscription ran out and I get a notice from a collection agency threatening me if I didn't pay them for a subscription I didn't renew. This a month after my previous subscription expired. Werner publishing, also the publishers of Digital Photo Pro, PC photo and numerous other useless golf and video rags, seem to think this is the way to build customers. If you're tired of big companies messing with you, don't bother with this magazine. Even if it was free, it is little more than a glossy shill for the advertisers who pay to advertise. For a fun game, try and find one negative review of a product from an advertiser that has a full page ad in the same issue. Good luck!

Have enjoyed reading more the tips that are offered. This mag seems to fit my needs as a someone trying to stay in shape without injury. I have improved my technique by reading the mag and that is worth the $20.00

So I ordered in March and they tell me I won't receive the magazine until June! I thought in the age of information and technology, my order would pass on through. Instead its some sort of mule carrying my request to the subscription center. Then they have to hand-write my address on each magazine cover... note sarcasm. I can download mp3s and buy an album on the spot, but I can't get a magazine at my door for 3 months? Get it together!! Don't buy it from Amazon!

I've just renewed my subscription,and a friends also,for Backpacker magazine for the...I don't know how many-ith time. To me Backpacker is the quintessential magazine for any backpacker. It informs and entertains anyone from the first time hiker to the person that's hiked all their life. From the food recipes to the first aid techniques to the annual gear guide, to the incredible photography and informative articles, no publication does it like Backpacker. I'm sold.

not as good as the regular national geographic but still the adventure version is alright.

If you are a hunter or a nature lover, the pictures in this magazine are well worth every penny. I really enjoy reading the articles and finding out about new products on the horizon. Whether its deer or fish, they always have some information I can use.

This magazine is amazing. There is so much information on every page. I am new to organics, kind of, so I am still learning about everything. This magazine is great to have for reference and before you buy a house read it so you don't spend thousands on a regular house when you could build it so much cheaper with alternative methods- that are much prettier too.

This is a pretty decent magazine for organic gardeners. It is rather thin though. I haven't found myself needing some of the info given, but other articles have been useful. This of course makes sense because we all grow different things! There are articles that aren't related to gardening. For example, the issue of organic & non organic milk. I think this would relate more to an issue on farming not gardening. Plus it wasn't even about raising your own cows, it was about factory cows, milk in the store. Anyway, it's a decent source for the beginner. The best resource out there is the Rodales Encycopedia of Organic Gardening. It is simply PACKED with useful information.

This magazine is about gardening, but it is not quite what I was hoping to find. The articles are interesting and the photography is is outstanding but since I was hoping to find plant articles that I could use in the Northwest I found it difficult to translate the articles for my own use. The magazine started coming much earlier than I had expected, which was a pleasant surprise.

After reading the various reviews I was still uncertain so I bought a copy at the local bookstore to try it out. I am a 51 year old woman who rides my bike around the neighborhood and in parks and aspires to be a commuter. For me it was extremely helpful as far as exercise, nutrition and other such guidance. Much of the technical stuff was over my head, but did contribute to my knowledge base. I have decided it is worth the $20 a year for someone like me.
