This magazine was a christmas gift for my father. He said that it is very in depth and informative to the goings on about beekeeping. He enjoys reading this magazine very much, and it is understandable instead of a lot of scientific journal writing that is difficult to read into.I am very pleased that it is not scientific enough that you need to be a doctor to read it and still gets to the heart of the content.

I got the Odyssey as a child, and it helped my interest in Science. So I recently ordered the magazine for my daughter who's on the younger side of the magazine's target audience. I liked the first issue which covered the human brain. The only thing I wasn't wild about was a photo of a person under going brain surgery. With a rather squeamish daughter, it bothered her a bit. The next issue was on Pirates. It was really good in the quality of information, writing, and the print quality. Five star issue. The third issue I just got was on the human body. It included quite a few photos of the human body, from the Body Works art show (where they pose skinned cadavers), to forensic scientists working with investigations. Although this publication is geared toward the advanced hobbyist or commercial beekeeper, I found it to be very helpful as a beginner. Learning about the beekeeping industry from a more global perspective is important if one is considering expanding from the hobby to earning a living through beekeeping.

The articles are always well-written and very informative, but I love this magazine most of all because of the fabulous photographs that appear cover-to-cover. I frequently cut out the pics after finishing the issue and cover my office's cubicle walls with them -- the wonderful colors of the scenery and the fascinating close-ups of birds and other wildlife just leave me breathless!!

Although pricey, this magazine is well worth the cost. The photographs are extraordinary and the articles well written and interesting. It is a grade above National Geo in size and paperstock. I highly recommend this magazine!

I ordered this magazine as a Christmas present in mid-December. In February it still had not arrived. I contacted Amazon to determine the status of the order and was told that they needed to "look into the matter further," they asked me to wait another 7 business days. After 8 business days I still hadn't heard anything, so I contacted them again... and this time they told me that even though I had paid for my order in full that my subscription was rejected and that I'd get a refund in the next couple of weeks. Absolutely absurd... I don't even want to know what would have happened had I not taken some initiative.

This publication is very nice and comes every week. But, it is a bit more technical than I had wanted. I was looking for more hobby type farming and this has more commercial information. It still has a lot of information and I do enjoy reading through the magazine.
