Most other Linux magazines out there charge at least $150-$200 per year. Linux Journal is very well priced, and they even have a PDF only version that you can subscribe to. I still prefer the very up to date and FREE online websites and magazines though.

This magazine was a christmas gift for my father. He said that it is very in depth and informative to the goings on about beekeeping. He enjoys reading this magazine very much, and it is understandable instead of a lot of scientific journal writing that is difficult to read into.I am very pleased that it is not scientific enough that you need to be a doctor to read it and still gets to the heart of the content.

I got the Odyssey as a child, and it helped my interest in Science. So I recently ordered the magazine for my daughter who's on the younger side of the magazine's target audience. I liked the first issue which covered the human brain. The only thing I wasn't wild about was a photo of a person under going brain surgery. With a rather squeamish daughter, it bothered her a bit. The next issue was on Pirates. It was really good in the quality of information, writing, and the print quality. Five star issue. The third issue I just got was on the human body. It included quite a few photos of the human body, from the Body Works art show (where they pose skinned cadavers), to forensic scientists working with investigations. Although this publication is geared toward the advanced hobbyist or commercial beekeeper, I found it to be very helpful as a beginner. Learning about the beekeeping industry from a more global perspective is important if one is considering expanding from the hobby to earning a living through beekeeping.

I'm an experienced electronics and embedded systems engineer, and also a hobbyist. I somewhat agree with other reviewers that CC is too shallow for professionals and too hard for novices. However, in every issue I always find useful bits of information and inspirational ideas for my next project at work or home.

They are indicative not only of Parker's occupation of the pinnacle of wine evaluation and his tenacious hold thereon, but of the opinions and controversies that run through the entire wine world. Pinnacles are nicely suited to lightning rods, and that's what Parker is at times. But ONE STAR?!! For Parker? And on the basis that wine criticism is subjective (DUH). Destroying terroir? Please! Parker's credibility rests on two things: the reviews themselves and his neutrality (to the market, that is, not that he isn't believed to have some biases). He is beholden to no-one but his readers.
