We bought these glasses for everyday use and they are a nice "step up". We are pleased to have them on the table. I have handblown ones which I save for entertaining.

Luigi's Bormioli's Esperienze wine decanter is the classic ship's decanter shape, but with an especially aggressive central punt (dimple in the middle of the bottom) and a series of concentric rings around the bottom. The rings and ridges are supposed to increase the rate of aeration. I don't know if that's true but everything about this decanter is designed to maximize aeration - from it's extremely generous 88oz size, very aggressive flair, and huge arcing punt. The big size really maximizes surface area at the bottom - a 750ml bottle fills the bottom less than an inch and a half and the surface area is huge. I bought a set of these glasses through Amazon from the wine glass guys and absolutely love them. The idea seems hokey at best and the goal of decanting your wine in minutes in a glass impossible to attain, but I think they're on to something here. Wine poured into these glasses does seem as if it's been decanted for a period of time. I have several types of glasses from a few glass makers (including Riedel) and always choose to serve wine in these glasses.

I ordered six boxes of these glasses = 24 of them. Out of the 24, only six were salvageable after shipping. They were not packaged properly - absolutely no bubble wrap used - and were shattered. I will NOT order something breakable like this from Amazon again. This is a huge disappointment!

This wine glasses are separate from the pack because their design, quality of the crystal and feeling. For a bourdeaux or a cavernet, there is nothing like a good transparency, a nice design that lead the bouquet rigth into your nose and the correct weight feeling. If you are a wine collector, chances are that you already own one of these glasses, but if you dont, get some!
