I bought this tea kettle for my daughter-in-law, who owns several other Le Creuset pieces. They use this tea kettle often. It's a beautiful design and looks very nice on her glass stove top. Now the problems - the inside is already rusting and the lid leaks like a sieve - NOT a good feature when you're pouring boiling water!! I have a rather plain looking Graves tea kettle that I paid just slightly more for that is much more safely designed than this one. If you are looking for a kitchen show piece buy it. If you are looking for a daily use tea kettle, keep looking.

I was in the market for a tea kettle because I transitioned to french press coffee and tea rather than brewed coffee using an electric coffee maker. My mother always had a Revere tea kettle in the house, and I thought it was that perfect blend of "Made in America" and wonderful reliability as well as good looks. I've had my Revere 8-Cup Stainless Steel Bottom Easy Fill Tea Kettle for almost a month. During this time, the neck has expanded so badly that water dribbles all over the counter. I removed the neck and attempted to tighten it using the little screw. No luck. The neck still has a huge gap between the flimsy plastic. Under most circumstances, I am a big fan of Corelle. I had great hopes for this teapot, and it fulfilled most of my expectations EXCEPT it dribbles and spills terribly when you pour. If it had a gooseneck spout, it would have been much better. However, I loved the look of it so much that I just put it on my stove for permanent decoration. I still use it occasionally, but mostly, I just use my coffee maker to make hot water.

I had a similar experience to another poster here in that the whistle stopped working a very short time after purchasing. The problem appears to be with the fit of the easy fill lid. It allows steam to leak - which doesn't allow enough pressure to build up behind the whistle at the spout. I've also noticed a crack in the plastic below the spout on the front - which has appeared in the last week (no steam is coming from there). I have a 5 year old easy fill kettle that worked fine until it's untimely user-caused demise - so I'd say that there is something wrong with a particular batch of these produced in the last year or so that has ill-fitting lids and construction not up to Revere's usual high standards. AVOID the trouble and get a different Revere kettle without the easy fill lid.

I researched various types, prices, and brand names and finially chose the Cuisinox stainless steel. It heats quicker than my previous metal one. Easy clean up. Happy I made the product choice.

The nice feature on this teakettle is that the spout is at the base so you don't have to turn it upside down to empty it. Also it is a little smaller than most.
