101.Copco Impress 2-1/3-Quart Teakettle, Yellow from: Copco

This Copco teakettle is easy to pick up when hot, as it has a cool handle. Even the lid can be removed without burning a finger when the kettle is hot, which is handy for refilling right away. However, the manufacturer recommends using only medium heat, so it takes much longer to heat water than I was used to. The whistle is loud enough to hear from another room. When the water level gets low, the kettle does not pour a straight stream, and water can splash outside the pouring target area. I like that there is no seam around the bottom, as that is where my last kettle began to leak.

Attractive, good functioning kettle. However, the "whistle" sounds like a smoke alarm or car horn & is very unappealing.

Kitchen & Housewares : Copco Harmony Teakettle - Red

After a thorough search for a replacement for our collectible old red "Bubble Pot" (design by Seibel, originally sold by SFC, now acquired by Copco), I ignored various aluminum and thin-steel kettles to find this winner. What it does: boils a lot of water fast (note the wide flat bottom); keeps your hand far away from steam coming from the spout; whistles when boiling starts; opens spout easily with push-lever in top of thick handle. This big, heavy, and durable teakettle has excellent balance, so your wrist won't twist when pouring. This kettle will also work on gas burners, without flames getting the handle base hot. The whistle/spout opens and locks/unlocks conveniently. We never use the round top cover; just fill the kettle with water via the opened spout.

This is a great tea-pot, IMO, if you need around a 53 OZ capacity. It is small and convenient for its capacity. And it looks great.

But only 4 stars, because the stainless Steel version looks even better, has a double thick bottom for heating, and looks even better.

But if you need more than one, like I do, then having different colors helps know which is which.

This teakettle is adorable and matches my dishes, but functionally, it fails. This leaks water very time I pour water into a cup. I've resorted to pouring over the sink so I don't leave a puddle elsewhere. I would suggest looking into a different teakettle...I am.
