I bought this machine from wholelattelove.com in 2006 and it serves me well every day. I use Lavazza in Blu espresso coffee in it and it always produces a good rich crema with a smooth, robust flavor. I've never had a problems with this machine. From what I understand, the boiler and pump mechanisms are identical to the ones in their more expensive machines plus it has a commercial style portafilter which is a big bonus too. Great machine for the price.

I have bought two DeLonghi machines and both have failed within a year and both have been sent back for repair two times each. I will not buy another one as the quality is so poor. Find another one to fulfill your needs.

These little machines make excellent coffee. Unlike the old American "cowboy coffee" percolators that basically drip hot recirculating water/coffee down through the ground beans, these little vessels instead force steaming hot water under pressure from the lower chamber up through the enclosed ground coffee chamber and into the top dispensing chamber for pouring into your cup. The flavor is rich and strong. Much better than those "Mr Coffee" type drippers. You will not want to go back to mere gravity drip coffee after you try it. These amazing devices have been around for many years and have an interesting history. Ingeniously simple in design, low cost, and functionally beautiful, the thing has become my best friend first thing in the morning!

I had the Gaggia 35008 Carezza Espresso Machine, it is noisy, no crema, except you have to insert a special device. Even so, no acceptable crema and the espresso tasted not as good as this machine.

Horrible machine, the espresso comes out like water, it overheats and gets jammed all the time. The frother leaks water out all the time, and the parts are impossible to replace because the customer service for DeLonghi is absolutely horrible. I ordered a part in February of 2008 and I still have not received it yet, supposedly its backordered. Backordered for 9 months? Come on! If you buy an espresso machine stay away from DeLohnghi products.

I bought this maker around 1993. About years later it finally is having trouble with it's power switch. I'm looking into a new one in the hopes that I can take advantage of some of the industries innovations. It has worked like a champ and got me through college, brewing one to two pots a day. The espresso this machine makes is ok... could be better. But the machine has been a champ. It has been with me through 10+ moves over the past 16 years and if it weren't for the power switch I'd hope to keep it for another 16. Overall, this is an excellent reliable coffee/espresso combo maker. Your money will be well spent.
