This is my second digital food scale. I loved the first, a Salter 3007, but as another Amazon member warned me I would, I melted it on top of the toaster. It still worked fine, but after the battery need to be replaced, I decided to get a new scale. Here's why I love the OXO Food Scale: 1. Easy to use. The buttons are simple; no instructions needed to figure stuff out; very intuitive design. 2. Very accurate. 3. Very precise. This things measures single grams. This is an "old-style" analog thermometer that doesn't require batteries, lcd screens, etc. It works, but I prefer digital.

I had an old french fry cutter that I finally tossed because it was rusty (yuck). I got this one, and have to say that I am very happy with it. I am surprised that some people wrote that it takes quite a bit of force. I was expecting it to take some muscle, so I put my potato in there and gave it a hefty pull. The potato went through like butter and flew halfway across the counter. I didn't hardly use any force on the next spud, and it went through like butter again. This time it didn't fly away. I am a 55-year-old, 100 pound lady, not the incredible hulk! It would be nice if the base was just an inch longer but for the price, I will cut my potatoes in half. It still makes nice size fries. In fact, I prefer the shorter, stumpier fries. They look more homemade and fit on a plate better.

These bags really do extend the life of the fruit. I use them for strawberries and tomatoes and get 3 or 4 more days of extra life which makes these worth it for our family.

Fred As a recent widower,who never in 85yrs.boiled a pot of water,I'm doing what I never thought of doing....cooking.Thats exaggerated Heating up is closer.I'm getting along pretty well mainley because I like it,and it's new.One thing I found is not relying on the oven temp setting .I use the Polder thermometer to sense the correct heat for whatever I'm cooking at the time. Try it ....you'll like it.

I don't even look for my old glass measures. I use this for liquids and dry measures such as milk, water, flour, rice, etc. Accurate and simple to use. The lid is good when you need to store in the fridge without having to worry about spills or getting out some plastic wrap. I'm probably going to buy another one later. Thanks to foodie Alton for this find.

I wish I would have seen this along time ago. Charges fast and works great. Just throw it back in the drawer when you are done, saves so much space compared to the counter can opener. Couldn't beat the price
