Originally I wanted to replace my old Bodum hand frother but I found this little thing and decided to try it. It is excellent :) I froths cold or warm milk no problem and makes yummee lattes, chocolates etc. It is real easy to clean which is an absolute plus - otherwise I would not use it. The only draw back is that if you hold it to hard one can accidently push the sides and the buttom comes of as if you wanted to change the batteries. It does not happen to me but to my husband so he is slightly upset with it.... until he tastes the delicious latte :)

I bought two of these from a dept store approx 6 months ago. One for me to replace a Braun that the blender cup housing had cracked (after 4 years and countless smoothies) and one for my mother who listened to me rave about these things for making smoothies much easier than traditional blenders. The motor failed on both of ours within weeks of each other. Thank god I still had the Braun, but only with the stick attachement that works flawlessly still. Im shopping for another one right now, but I had to stop for a second to throw this hunk of trash under the bus where it belongs. Dont do it.

This blender looks good but.... I bought it primarily for smoothies, and the processor, boasted a strong amp/hp motor. The first unit burned out the motor with a 3/4 full container of mix after the third use. I contacted amazon who referred me to CUISINART, their rep. told me to send it in for repair (3 weeks after purchase) and give them a credit card for shipping charges and repair charges, she was not surprised it quit. So I again called Amazon and was answered by their India branch, and filed a complaint, they handled it by sending me a new unit and a call tag from UPS (great service). The second blender is working fine, but don't be impressed by its Large Chrome Plated Plastic Base and large container size, the motor is not capable of handling large loads and will overheat. Bought these and love them. The tricky part is getting the glasses out of the mold, but the mold is really durable so you can just bend them out. The glasses work great (cold alcohol is pretty smooth) but they melt after about two or three shots. Worth it, get it.

we got this immersion blender because of the price point and we wanted one for soups and baby food. we're very pleased with this blender. it works really well for baby food and is able to blend stuff to the right consistency for our 6 month old baby. our only complaint with it is that after a while your finger hurts holding the "engage" button, as noted by someone else. other than that one complaint, great immersion blender for twice the price.

This blender really will blend just about anything to whatever consistency you might desire. In my case I use it mostly for beverages, making smoothies from powdered and fresh ingredients. The preprogrammed buttons are handy, but you will find from time to time you may have to use `Pulse'. The blender is loud, though no more so than the one it replaced, a 70's vintage Hamilton Beech. Clearly you're not going to keep a conversation going or be able to hear a TV/Radio while this is running. If you've ever visted Jamba Juice or Starbucks you've heard Blendtec's commercial blenders at work, this blender is basically a consumer version of those blenders. it was what we ordered but VERY poorly packaged, many of the chargers came out of their boxes in shipping, and were ruined subsequently. the people that ship these cartridges should package their goods better, i.e., with bubble rap or those plastic pouches, not with plain old brown paper.

All around best blender out there. Key difference between this and a lot of other similar devices: 400 watts, compact size, and sturdy build. The solid design also makes it the easiest kitchen clean up I can imagine: Pop off the bottom half with the blade and run it under hot water in the sink - done in 10 seconds. Traditional blenders have been a let down mainly because I can't travel with them and clean up is ridiculous. We've found this thing can do everything we throw at it: raw food prep (yes with lots of nuts/pates etc. - it all works), smoothies while traveling etc. And, like title of this post says "it is the smoothie king". I'm thoroughly impressed. We've had two now for almost two years and they're still going strong: one for home use, one for the 'on the road' kit.

I thought it was outrageous that the picture shows a set of 4 bottle stoppers and i only received one. i think the description should be updated or at least the picture should. i felt utterly deceived when i received my package. not including the amount of time i waited to receive it.
