I have been sprinkling 'human form' lysine on my cat's food for years. (He was an abandoned little guy and the vet feels he was most likely malnourished at an early age and has feline herpes virus as a result) Since there is no cure, I was stick with lysine as a preventative measure. I am certain it made his food taste chalky, as he would only eat a little at a time, and very reluctantly. My other cars wouldn't even go near it. I am so happy to have found Viralys. Our 15 month old Bichon was a victim of the pet food recall. She was on IV's for 10 days and we came very, very close to losing her. Once she was able to eat, our vet prescribed Epakitin as a supplement on any "regular" food as it helps break down proteins. Her bun reading was well into the 80's when her kidneys first failed and are now in the 20's, with the use of Epakitin and a good kidney diet. Our vet checks our dog's blood every 2 to 3 months. With the use of Epakitin her readings have continued to stay within reasonable limits. We ran out of Epakitin at one time and when blood tests were done her reading were back up into the 60's. I've used several stain removal products before, but this is one of the best out there. When I read the directions that simply indicated to spray and let be and "watch the stain magically disappear" needless to say I was skeptical. However, 24 hours after a clean and a spray, sure enough the vomit stain was gone! In fact, this product is so great it even completely removed a very large ink stain I had on my carpet for the longest time. I didn't think it would work since that's not the kind of stuff this product was intended for, but the stain was completely removed after two days.

My dog is a survivor of the pet food recall. This product along with Azodyl has kept his BUN and Creatinine levels stable for over a year. He is feeling good with a good quality of life. I am a nurse and I researched many treatment options for him and the results of this are amazing. It is not a hoax like many other treatments. Item was purchased to control herpes outbreaks in one of my cats or at least to lessen their severity. It was easy to dispense the dosage, mix it with cat food and the cat did not at all object to consuming it. So far, he has received the medicine for about a month and there has not been any sign of this chronic illness. (In the months prior, the outbreaks recurred every week and were extremely severe.)
