I have two miniature schnauzers and do all their grooming with an Oster A-5 2 speed clipper. This blade leaves their coats nicely cut but long enough so they still have hair to keep them warm. You will have to groom more frequently if you use this length blade, however. I only use it in the winter. It would be good on other breeds. The quality of the blade itself is very good.

i am a huge fan of oster dog clippers, so when i bought these i thought i would get a nice pair of clippers for little feet and faces. i was wrong! they wouldn't go through even small patches of hair on my shih tzu. i have an oster a5, and have had a oster mini max, and both were outstanding. even though this is sold for horses, it's the same model as the finisher marketed for dogs. very dissapointing, and i had to return it.

I have 2 medium sized very long haired animals. Both of them hadn't been shaved in a long time and they started to get thick hair mattes...so I really struggled to find a razor that would be strong enough for something akin to shearing sheep, this one did it, no problems. Though this is not a no maintenance razor, you have to lube it, add coolant, clean it, etc.

A little large for my purposes, but that was my fault for getting the wrong size. Good quality. Works well on a wheaten...
