Very pleased. I have ownd a Littermaid for the past 8 years and have found this product to be a great time saver. My cat never has a dirty litter box and I use a great deal less litter. This is my second littermaid in 8 years. the first one was no longer auto cleaning and required a manual reset to get the cleaner to run. I beleive the sensor was bad. I was tired of having to remember to reset it so I bought another one. Definately worth the money!

This product is amazing. I had the same one except it was a little bigger. I have two cats and they still use it everyday ;) It is a bit smaller, but the cats don't notice and it doesn't effect me if it doesn't effect them! Great product and definitely a great buy! It has even come down in price from a few years ago!

Please don't waste your money on this litterbox. I had the previous generation (900) and it worked pretty well for years. So I thought I would upgrade to the "Elite", and threw the old one out (it still worked), that was a MISTAKE. Rarely does the Elite perform as advertised. It does not fully clear the litter from the box. Clumps of liquid clog the machine. Notice the angle of the rake, pointing down and forward which means it digs into the clumps of litter/waste and gets stuck instead of scooping. Rarely does it leave a clean litter box, which defeats the whole point and adds to the smell. You will likely unclog it often. I upgraded to the "Litter Robot" and WOW, it does a superb job and leaves the litter absolutely PERFECT after each use, with virtually no smell (unless you have SuperNose). ... Read More

First off, the concept is great. Honestly, this is great for the cats and containing the litter fling. Now the reality: 1) Is this really manufactured by Littermaid as well? I know it is, but can someone not take accurate measurements? Assembling the plastic rods was annoying enough, but for the joint connectors to be so dang brittle they snap? That was the first call to them asking for a free replacement. 2) We have the Littermaid Mega Elite pooper scooper. The dang thing doesn't fit in the tent. The cartridge box hangs about half way out. Hello? Does Littermaid not design these for their own product? Also, this was designed so poorly to move the box in and out of the tent. This works pretty well at catching litter when my cat leaves the box, and thus makes keeping the floor clean an easier task. It's a bit pricey for a glorified floor mat, but I'd say it's worth the investment if you are worried about keeping your carpet clean.

When I purchased this item I had envisioned something completely different, but so far it has helped us out tremendously. We keep our litter box in the dining room and with the cabana there are no foul odors to contend with since we have the cover and everything is contained, so to speak.

I have used the Littermaid for 3+ years. We needed to finally purchase another one so we went with the Elite model which was a mistake. The area in our bedroom is too dark during the day so the nighttime sensor is always sensing it is dark thus not running the machine. Then when there was a light or we hit the run button, the machine failed to function as effective as this less expensive and older model. This LM500 is a real work horse for us with 3-4 cats, one of which is very particular about a clean box or she will go elsewhere. We actually got rid of the newer model after having to fight with it for 3 weeks and purchased this model again.
