This is probably one of the nicest gift ideas I have come across in a long time. It is unique, right in line with the big tea craze today, and would probably NOT be one of those duplicate gifts that everyone, especially at showers, seems to get. Great buy.

I figured I'd write a review, because I feel this little fan has gotten some undue bad press. For what it is, it is a very good little fan. It's very small, and sleek looking. Within 15 minutes of bringing it into my office cubicle, someone commented on how "cool" it looked. Beyond the aesthetics of the fan, it produces a nice breeze on the low setting, which is virtually silent. Nothing that powerful, but you can definitely feel the breeze up to five feet away or so. The high setting seems to about double or triple the air moved, but it does produce a slight motor noise. Nothing too loud. At five feet away or so, it's just a low hum. This is a decent fan, but I think the price is a bit high for an all plastic appliance. I like the fact that the fan has a normal table top base as well as a clamp base. The low speed setting is reasonably quiet. The high speed setting is reasonably powerful (not quiet). The fan tilts and turns every which way, which is useful. Note that this is not an oscillating fan. For the price, I would have liked to have more than two speeds to choose from.

I didn't realize how tiny this fan is! It's quite cute and surprisingly pushes a lot of air for it size. The noise level is acceptable and comparable to other vornado products (it's not super-super quite, but it's not loud). Note that this doesn't oscillate as does the larger models. I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 because through all my research I was mislead that this oscillated (which is probably my faulty expectations) and that the fan wasn't larger (which wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for the needs of my purchase). Otherwise this fan is definitely a cool little fan that pushes a surprising amount of air for it's size. (though, don't expect a tornado).

I purchased this fan despite the high price because I have been impressed by larger my larger Vornado fans. This fan does not come close to maintaining the level of quality of Vornado's larger line of fans. The fan is powered by electrical outlet (not batteries), has both low and high settings, swivels both vertically and horizontally, and swivels completely downwards for storage when not in use. The key issues I have are- Air output: The air really dribbles out of the fan. I had a coworker place his hand in front of the fan and ask if it was turned on. I bought the Flippi V8 today and I love it. The main reason for my love is that it replaces a floor model fan that stood out like a sore thumb. This fan sits on the shelf, oscillates, and does what it's designed to do-keep me cool. I do agree that the oscillation switch could have been better placed but because this is a "personal" fan, I do not see that I will need to access the switch very often. If I do, I can just pick the fan up, turn it around, and flip the switch. I intend to let it run 24/7 and I have 4 cats so it will be interesting to see how long it last.

Very noisy fan - cheaply built - expected more from Vornado, not this cheap made-in-china junk.
