I've owned one of these openers for almost two years. Purchased additional openers for family who were unhappy with their current model. Works great even for those with small hands, no struggling.

We bought this to replace our "Gizmo" can opener when the battery finally stopped accepting charges (After 4 years). We didn't want an under-the-counter unit, so we decided to give this one a try. So far it is at least as good as the Gizmo was, but even seems easier to get lined up on the can. We can only hope for the money that it lasts 4+ years as well.

I bought this because I saw a friend using one and thought it was cool. "no more sharp edges - why would you NOT want one?" Unfortunately many, many can lids are sealed with glue. After you cut through the can lid, which often requires 2 full passes, the lid does not easily pull off. Instead you must use the "beak" attachment to pry the lid off. This can be physically difficult (which means I'm called into the kitchen to pull the sword out of the stone). About 5% of cans I encounter are still impossible to open this way, and I have to pull out my ugly, rusty, falling apart "traditional" opener to complete the task. 10 minutes to open a can? This is a wonderful can opener. This opener is compact and nice looking, which is a plus when you have little counter space areas. It is very quiet when in use and holds the can perfectly when opening. I also love the knife sharpener in the back. The bottle opener though is not that accessible though and if there is anything negative to say its that. Well packaged and would recomend this to everyone.

This was highly recommended on the Food Network's "Test Kitchen" , so I decided to purchase it. It's expensive at $35 but worth every penny. I won't ever need another can opener!

I purchased this to replace my slowly dying and aging GE spacemaker. This unit is stylish and for the money it works fine with no problems. Installing it was easy, too bad it didn't match the holes from my previous one, but oh well. Granted it is not a $200 Bosch but you get what you pay for.

Like any reasonable and lazy person, I figured I shouldn't be wasting my precious time cranking the knob on a can opener when it could do it for me! You have to, must really, read the instructions. This very great device opens cans in a new way that is so slick, safe and easy you will wonder why you've messed around with sharp edges, icky fingers and half-open chili. Takes off lid so nicely you can re-use it, like for dog food. Throw out those tired old neanderthal openers. This is the way to go.

I bought this yesterday (not on Amazon, at a grocery store), and the first time I used it, today, it broke. But before it broke, it gave me one heck of a battle trying to open a little 6.5 oz. can of button mushrooms. First, the round cutting blade did not securely hang onto the can as I tried to twist the rotating knob. So, the natural reaction is to grip the handles harder, but this results in the handles actually becoming detached from the opener (the handles are not glued or fastened onto the device, they simply slide onto the head of the opener, and can easily be pulled off). After sliding the handles back on as snugly as possible, I continued trying to open my can of mushrooms, but the can would only sporadically be punctured by the blade, rather than being continuously sliced into; and the shaking of the can ...
