This machine has been great! Its our first pump machine....the first was a delonghi steam machine, which produced almost no steam, and was just generally pathetic. This machine produces a decent shot of espresso, and a lot of steady steam. The frothing wand is a little short, but with a small pitcher, you can easily make enough milk for two beverages (or one really big one, i guess). and the machine comes with a built-on tamper, which is convenient, though ideally you'd want to have a separate one. overall, the machine is well built, and a great tool, especially on a budget.

I received this stovetop coffeemaker after placing it on my amazon wish list -- i had heard from a friend that this was a great way to have authentic coffee without an expensive espresso maker occupying valuable counter space. He was right -- after making one pot of "throwaway" coffee to get it seasoned, I was well on the way to making a delicious cup of coffee -- i set the gas burner on medium heat and after a few minutes the coffee was brewed and ready to pour. it makes an incredibly rich cup of coffee -- on the spectrum between coffee and espresso it is closer to espresso, but not as thick. highly recommended and worth every penny. time will tell how long it lasts, but if the other amazon reviews are any indication, i think i'll be passing by the coffee shop in the morning and saving some ... For two weeks this machine worked good. Then slowly it started to fail. And this was only making one to two cups a day. Going back!

After reading all of the comments, I purchased this machine and am very happy with it. As others commented, the carafe spout does spill if you don't pour it very slowly. I contacted Mr Coffee about this and they sent me a replacement, with a longer spout that doesn't spill, within 3 days. This is my first time using an espresso machine and I think for the money it does a great job!! Thanks for all of the reviews :)

I purchased this product about 3 years ago, I couldn't figure out how to use it so I gave up. Recently we got a new person in the office who wanted to use it so I said more power to you. She showed me how to get it going and with tips from my sister who used to work at a specialty coffee place, I feel professional. I make a great carmel macchiatta every morning. I think there may be a worn washer or something because I have to steam milk while the espresso is running (not what it's supposed to do) but I found a great rhythm and now I get very hot milk with an excellent thick foam. I keep my $4 in my pocket.

I have owned a previous version of this coffee maker and it has been a wonderful appliance to own. I love the ease of use and the quickness of the finished product.

After reading all of the reviews we decided to take the plunge on this unit. Love it - very happy with the purchase. NOthing negative to say about it at all. The final product is fabulous whether or not you do the milk froth. YUM!

Great vendor: I received the product ahead of time. They also include a gift inside the box. Product as expected: works great, makes good coffee, but capsules are somewhat expensive. However, it worth it to my european taste buds!

I am a coffee addict and this is the best so far from Italy that can be produced on a stove top quickly. Don't clean it with commercial cleansers as the chemicals will leach into the metal. Also, use distilled cool water with coarse ground beans. I have a variety of machines and beans. I test all coffee and machines on many friends and guests. Only good reviews...even with average quality beans.
