I never cared for incense until I started attending a Buddhist Temple where they burned the most wonderful sandalwood incense. I purchased some inexpensive sandalwood incense from a local new age bookstore, but was quite disappointed. It was nothing like the incense at the temple, it all was sickingly sweet, or too smoky, or barely smelled of anything at all. Reviews for Morning Star were very good, so I decided to give it a try. I was brought up on East Indian incense, and so I was a little put off by the this Japanese length which is half that of what I'm accustomed to. However, the scents are distinctive yet not overpowering. Rather they have a pleasing subtlety to them, and this product is now my favorite incense.

Hmm... it's really nothing like a roaring fire but I don't think it ever says that it is supposed to be. I love the fragrance of this candle the noise that it makes really isn't noticeable unless you are quite close to the flame and then the noise is more like a hissing. I do love this candle though and I'm hoping to buy more... I just think they are kinda expensive.

I bought three of these candles, giving two as gifts and keeping one for myself because the unlit fragrance was so delicious. I have tried to light my candle 50 different times and it won't light. I've gotten a few brief spells of the burning ember effect, in which fragrance has been released, which is lovely, but I have never seen a flame on the wick (except when I've been holding the lighter to it!). I went to the Woodwick website to see if they posted any tips (like the Circle E website. Circle E candles are great!!!), but they had nothing. So I might try to call customer service and then try pulling some wax back from the wick to see if that might help. Now I wonder about the other two candles I gave as gifts. I won't be buying any more of these.
